Okay, who's in, and have you done Musselman before?

This will be my 6th year.

Hey I had to move my first Half to this one... I was signed up for Mt.Tremblant but unforuntaely had to cancel so the next available one I can do is Musselman.. Thinking the course is actually more friendly for a first one lol but just wanted to get your reviews on the race... Thanks

Musselman is a great race!!. the swim is good. the lake can get a bit choppy sometimes, but not bad. The bike course if pretty fair - gentle sloping uphill for the first third, levels out for the middle, and then generally sloping downhill for the final third. There's a few decent sized up and down hills about 1/2 way through the bike, but they're manageable. There is a small 3-4 mile gravel section during the final third of the bike - take it easy on the part and you'll be fine. The run is flat for the first 3ish miles and final 3ish miles. The middle is hilly, with one or two tough hills. The run alongside the corn field is interesting. Overall, the run course is good though.

There is great support along the entire course, and especially on the run course. Kudos to all the musicians and volunteers - they do a great job.

Enjoy the Musselman - it's a great race!

Doing the double again!  5th or 6th time doing the half.  I agree it is a great course, I can't compare to Mt. Treblant, but the bike is fair.  Probably the toughest part (unless the lake gets choppy) is the run.  There are a couple of pretty good climbs mid way.

Good luck with the training!

BTW, running some of the course tomorrow doing the Seneca 7 relay race around Seneca Lake!

I've done both the Musselman and IMMT, so I know both courses. I'm really busy right now (and about to get on a plane), but will provide some pros/cons of each course when I have a chance to come up for air in the next few days.

My issue is that I am currently deployed and training outside is proving difficult, especially on the bike. I have found a safe 10km running loop but I am struggling with the bike training.
