Subject: RE: Relative difficulty of Xterras? In the area, Lory is probably the easiest but the run is pretty tough. Lory can be frustrating because the bike course is so tight and difficult to pass on. Bear It All at Bear Creek Lake Park (Without Limits) I think would be the easiest from start to finish. Somewhat harder is XTERRA Buffalo Creek. I say this only because the bike is over 20 miles. It's not a difficult bike though and the run is pretty flat. The toughest I've done with a doubt is XTERRA Beaver Creek; even the sprint is very challenging. The full distance felt like a half ironman. It starts out at about 8000 feet and you climb Beaver Creek Resort to T2; thus you don't get all of the return downhill to T1. The run is very challenging and at 9,000 feet. I can't attest to any others. Per Without Limits, Curt Gowdy is much more of a technical bike course than Buffalo Creek or Lory. |
