Hi Manatees,

i had this drafted up earlier but wanted to stop in and say hi and wish everyone a good weekend.

I have been keeping very busy over the last while. If you've stopped by my log recently then you'll know but I am 12 weeks pregnant this week. I had the ultrasound this week and everything looks good. I've been okay - had a bunch nausea and I am quite tired. But overall, i am very happy and looking forward to our new addition to our family.

It's also getting very real on our reno - we hired a contractor, we're about to sign on a temporary rental. We're packing and purging at house! It's very exciting!

So here's the baby as seen on Wednesday

Ultrasound

And here's Felicity, just for fun and smiles, who is in love with everything princesses. My co-worker gave her this dress and she is enthralled with it. She dug out the headband because snow white has a red bow.

Felicity Snow White

Welcome new little one! That is one great outfit. Such a Princess!

The Horny Melon finished the Pumkin Peddler. It was a good race. Though I was doing it as a ride. Beautiful country, leaves changing through farmland and around the Lake. It is the longest I have ridden in for-ev-er and there were tons and tons of long up hills. Now to relax then go to the kids house for a birthday celebration. I love adult kids. They provide all the food etc for their own birthday party! Hope everyone else is having a great weekend and great races.

I'm actually not racing Tuesday (sorry, just updated my races). However, the good news is that in my achilles rehab, I started back to running again last week, and I'm picking my cycling back up as well (as seen for those in the TrainerRoad group).

My PT is going well, and is doing solid work in building up the tendon and the stabilizers in my right ankle.  I believe I'll be back to regular running soon, after losing three months out of the year.  I think the reality is that I need to do some regular strength training, because that is what PT has essentially been the last two times for me.  I also hope to do some running form tweaking while my distance is super short, and shift my footstrike forward a bit, along with moving my right foot placement a little more laterally.  Turns out that my right foot has been landing too close to the midline, and has been contributing to some of my recent injuries.

It's still in the mid to high 80's here in TX. I'm anxiously awaiting the cold. Summer's are too long down here!

well maybe if summer is over for you'll you can send the warmth my way. We have not seen much of any spring sunshine here just yet with the exception of one day last week when it got to almost 90. But a couple of days later it was back to 60 and wet and windy. This week we are finally having more sunshine than rain but it is still cold with the max being around 65-70. I keep reminding myself that it will get here eventually and by March I will be complaining that it's been way too hot for way too long.

Heat spike here, too, getting back to more seasonally appropriate temps Fri and on.  I think it might be a new heat record for this time of year, or close to one.

I am just relieved to be out of the almost daily torrential rain and flooding (in Laos for a week--their dry season starts before ours as more inland). Almost fall-like weather here, if the tropics had fall. Cool and foggy mornings, hot and dry afternoons, cool, dry evenings with beautiful sunsets. Heading back Friday though; another storm is supposed to hit the coast on Wednesday so will probably be back to wet and soggy. All my clothes back in Saigon smell like mildew. I swear even my brain had started to grow a mold. My sinuses sure felt that way. Feels good to dry out!

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
