Good morning BT!  I am back after a long emotional weekend!

5:00am:  30 minute run with some run drills in the middle

So we ended up tying for 3rd at State--all 7 runners ran a career personal best so they absolutely could not have done more.  All of the emotional stuff prior to leaving got sorted out but the whole thing plus driving to and from Vegas wore me out!  I slept a lot yesterday!  It was an amazing season but I am glad to be done...I start working with these kids in early July so it's just a long season.

Ready to really focus in on my own training now!

Have a great day!

Congrats on the 3rd place for the team and the PB's they ran!

LT bike test scheduled for tonight so no swim for me this morning.

Have a great day!

Congrats on your kids, Kim, and to you as a coach! It must be such a rewarding experience to help those kids achieve, and I bet there are some post race blues when the season ends. I definitely had that as a runner, but haven't had that experience as a coach.
I had a 45 minute run at the local trails. My buddy's training for a marathon so I brought him there for the first time to show him a new place to run out some miles away from traffic and pavement.

Congrats on State! Glad it all got sorted out. Our track/XC season starts in two weeks (it has to be in winter, for obvious reasons). Crazy schedule--there's only one meet, the city championships, for each, and they're three days apart. I'm not sure an elementary kid could really manage to do a strong effort in both--they'd still be some from the XC meet (which is first) by the day of the track meet! The team may be so big that I can't run kids in both anyway, just one event in one of the meets.

3000m of swimming here. It kept looking like it was going to storm but never did--that makes for a pretty intense workouts with not much hanging around on the wall. Rainy season still hasn't quit. At least the election will be done soon--I'm just completely sick of both.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

I have been able to swim 200-300 yards without stopping for the past couple of weeks, but this morning I couldn’t swim more than 50. Could not eating make a big differance?

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."
