Of course right now it is the hottest time of year--glad I will be away racing this weekend--the forecast LOW for Saturday is 81, with high humidity. Arrrgh!
Training has honestly become much less fun since pool hours got cut (probably won't be restored until maybe next school year ). Now my weekday swims are always crammed (literally and figuratively ) into Lane 1 of a 6AM club practice (and I have to be in my classroom @ 7:30 ). Yep, I get in 3000-3300m. And shower. And (kinda sorta ) eat breakfast in that time. Also means that more runs are happening in the afternoon. It is still well into the 90's if I start an hour before dark, and the traffic is just ridiculous--feel like I'm taking my life in my hands to cross the street!
On that note...
6:15 AM: 3000m of swimming
5:15 PM: Hour-ish run with some 5K effort pickups
Tomorrow off again as flying out to Singapore. |
