Pre-race routine:

I love road races because they start LATE. I am not a morning person.
Got my bag and brought it back to the car. Decided to wear shorts instead of tights. It was beautiful out!
Event warmup:

talked with c2fd and isis. I forgot I brought my mp3 so I went and grabbed it. This was my first time racing with music.

Comments:

I was hoping to do under 10 min miles. I haven't been running as much as I planned, so I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep that pace. The first mile the guy timing said 9:25 I was so happy.
In some places the trail got narrow and congested but mostly it was great.
There was a pretty good headwind at some of the turns.
Glenn and Joanne were at the finish cheering me. Thanks guys!
What would you do differently?:

run more!
Post race
Warm down:

Ate some fruit and chowder.(a little difficult to eat in the morning)
Somehow we missed the awards. When we checked the results, Joanne found out she placed 2nd in her age group!! That was cool!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

not enough training..

Event comments:

I would reccomend this race highly.

Way to go Pattie.  You must be thrilled with the sub 10 minute mile.  Way to go trails are usually a little slower.
