Subject: Cyclist trying to bridge the gap Hello to all, I am so glad that I found this website. I have been lurking for a few days. I am very interested in doing triathalons. It is an event that I know will be the type that could take over all my interests.
Just to give you some info on me: I am 26, 6'4" 230lbs. I live in Denver, I am married and have two kids. I am currently attending the CU Dental School. I am a former marine and I am a semi-competetive cyclist. I love cycling, I grew up swimming, and since I was in the marines I have done my fair share of running. I know my current weakness in the sport is running, so I hope to be able to remedy that. I know I can fix it because my 5k time used to be 20:30 (which i dont think is bad for a big guy ).
My goal is to do a triathalon at the beginning of next year. I really need to work on my distance running. My longtime goal is to run an ironman before age 35. So any tips for training would be appreciated.
I dont know if it is just my area, but it seems like all tri's are being run on sundays. Is this the normal case? For religious reasons I would not be able to participate in sunday events, so I am looking for ones that occur on saturdays. If any one has any information on tri's that occur on saturdays in the Denver area I would be very appreciative. |
