Subject: RE: Garmin 301 problem Just had this problem with a new one I bought my wife. Per Garmin tech support: turn the unit off, press and hold the lap button, and turn the unit back on. You'll get a message asking if you want to erase all personal data (or something like that). Pick yes, and set the unit out in the open for 30 minutes. This worked for me. I'm at work and don't have the email in front of me, but I'm mostly sure it was the lap button. If that doesn't get you the Erase Data message, then try the mode button. Caveat: the issue with my wife's new one was that we could never get it acquire satelite after buying it. This did work and fix our problem. |
