I have been doing pretty darn good this week! I had gained a pound over last weekend, so I was up to 150.8, but now I am down 149.6. Hopefully i will be down a wee bit more tomorrow morning for weigh in, but someone gave me a big bag of almond M&M's today....my favorite! Argh!

How is everyone else doing? Can't wait to see the first weigh-in results.

I am going with the strategy of only getting on the scale once a week and seeing where you are then. It keeps me saner. I don't want to sweat over every meal.
Like when I wrestled in high school. We used to take our lunches to the scale and hold our lunches. Then throw out the food till we were at the weight we needed to be. That's how we knew we would make weight. In retrospect it was not such a bright idea.

I did my first weigh-in this morning.  160.25!  2 down, 10.25 to go.  Of course with this weekend being Christmas, I will gain both of those pounds back, but I do plan to train this weekend, even on Christmas day (in the early morning...just a short run) so I won't destroy my progress too much.

Remember to have your results in the thread by tomorrow (Saturday) some time so I can do the spreadsheet.  Gonna try to get it done Sunday so I don't have to worry about it on Christmas day.  Thanks all!

147.4!!! WOOHOO!! I am very happy with that, since I started the week at 150.8. I have been weighing myself every day, and yesterday I was still 149.6, so somehow I dropped over 2 pounds in once day! Oh well, I'll take it. Now hopefully I will not gain anything over the weekend like I did last week. 7.4 pounds to go!!

176.8!  I was very surprised at this, because I had a huge dinner out at Elephant Bar last night.  I forgot that we were weighing in today unitl this morning when I saw my note to weigh myself.  Next Friday is going to be interesting!  There's going to be a lot eating done between now and then.  I have a 22 mile run tomorrow so I need to carbo load tonight (beer).

Good luck everyone.

Mike

Great job you guys!  Got ya all entered!

Chris - No worries man, this is probably the worst time of year to start a weight loss plan anyway...we're probably all crazy if we think there will be weight loss this coming week!  But it's all good, we still have almost four months to get there!!

Rich, that is a big loss!! Congrats! ABQ, awesome!! Good luck on that huge run tomorrow. Jeff, you rock, baby! Congrats Don on a great loss this week too!!

Chris, the holidays are so hard. I just knew I needed to lose this week because the coming week is going to be very challenging. Doing smores on Xmas eve, along with gobs on potato chips and french onion dip, eggnog, cheese and crackers, chocolate. And then there is Xmas day and that huge dinner!! I can't wait! I will try to be super good until Sunday night, and then ENJOY it all and not feel guilty!

Official weight today: 170.8.

I'm kind of surprised because I was treating this as a gimme week. I wasn't paying attention to nutrition and ate horribly! I was going to consider today my official starting weight. Oh well. Now I have to start paying attention!

Hey can you sign me up for this?

I weighed in at IMAZ in April at 199 lbs (yeah I know ..almost Clydesdale)

My goal weight is 159 or better

Last time I checked I hit a new low of 169 but that was 1.89 litres of eggnog ice-cream ago.

I've decided that the scale I have isn't worth a damn.

I get on this morning, it says 172.6 pounds. I pick up a container of liquid soap and a can of shaving cream that have to be at LEAST 1 pound and it says 172.6 pounds. I pick up a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of pajama pants and it says 174.2. I drop the shirt and pajama pants and it still says 174.2.

I've had digital scales in the past that had the opposite problem. I'd get on, step off, and step back on and it might show weights a pound apart.

The scale at my gym can be like that.  And it's mechanical!  I can step on, weigh myself, step off, then step back on and it's a pound different.  Piece of crap.  I think I'm gonna get myself a mechanical bathroom scale and use that in the challenge instead of the one at the gym, I can't be sure of what it says...
