I'll make a spread sheet that will track each "event" and give us a running total. I'll try to get it done this weekend and figur out how to link it to the site. Then I'll try to keep it updated regularly.

Ok if this works - there should be a spread sheet atached. I'll try to get it updated every day or two so we can encourage and/or hassle each other. If you want your goals added to the bottom, post them or pm me and I'll do so.
Peace
Ken

You can put me down for 250 miles on the bike and 20000 meters/yards in the pool.  Im not supposed to run but I will be doing the elliptical machine to keep those muscles in some type of shape.

Thanks, the spreadsheet looks great.

HELLO!   I'm back after a miserable end to February.  Long story short, Ambulance accident during the last snowstorm, sick kid, long work hours...  Kid's better, ambulance is in the repair shop and work has settled down.

So by losing the last week and a half my February numbers:

GOALS ACTUAL
Swim96 MinSwim55 Min
Bike166  MinBike132 Min
Run306 MinRun255 Min
Core100 MinCore60  Min
 668 Min 492 Min

Goals for March:

GOALS
Swim179 Min
Bike370 Min
Run392 Min
Core160 Min
 1101

 Min

This contest sound like a plan...  Using my average speed in the pool and on the bike my numbers should be:

Swim8950 Yds
Bike104 Miles
Run392 Min

I am already behind, but will make up my time (atleast that is my plan).

Hi guys,

I am going to sit out this months race but perhaps will join in next month. Good luck to you all, welcome back Tad...hopefully March will be a smoother month for you...I sure hear ya about long work hours....I am quiet the schedule gal and work keeps screwing me up...I got home an hour late today as a matter of fact...ugh...normally my workout would be about done by now...oh well...guess I'll have to work plan B. Lisa PS Any ideas how one calculates distance...at least roughly while spinning?

Lisa - on my trainer I work off of the bike computer that gives me that information.  I have never been to a spin class.  Ask and see if the bikes have some sort of computer that calculates distance.  If not just log minutes.  Training is training and you get the benefit either way

Don't let the schedule thing get you down (this is for you too Tad).  There are many times work or family get in the way of training.  Most of the time those two things should be a higher priority.  Just roll with it.

It is alot like what my canoe instructor taught me many years ago when we ran our first whitewater (which I hated then and am still scared silly over).  Don't fight the river flow with it.

You guys are doing great!

I use about 15mph for an esimate of mileage in spin class.  My average on the road bike is 16+ so I figure 15 is a safe estimate.  My cadence in spin class is probably higher than actual road miles.

Here is the updated "race" sheet through this morning..  Looks like Steve is pulling away in the swim. The other Steve (who can ride outdoors Tongue out) is setting a high bar on the bike, and I have a slight edge with the run.

Everyone keep up the good work and let me know if I missed or messed up anything.

Peace

Ken

Today it is sunny with a high of 73.  Needless to say I will be taking an outside bike ride this PM as the time change gives me an extra hour to play.

Just rubbing it in for you guys (thats y'all in GA) in the great white north.

I think that the guy who rides outside in 73 degree weather (and rubs it in) should have a handicap - Like having to drag a 70 pound trailer behind him or something   Soak up that sun for me!  Good job everyone.

Ken - my running goal for this month in minutes is 360 minutes.  Thanks.

Did everybody get outside today??? Here in Ohio we had a beautiful, warm, sunny day...and guess what....work let me off 2 hours early so I was able to enjoy my first bike ride of the season outside! I live near Lake Erie and I was riding by the Lagoons which butt up against the Lake...it was beautiful to see that huge body of water...partially ice covered. My ride was pretty treacherous at times as the trails were wet...muddy....slushy and snowy at different parts...quite the adventure....at times the mud was kinda deep and it was all I could do to keep pedaling....there was no turning back...me...my mtn bike and my running shoes got all muddy but it was great training outside. Can you tell I enjoyed it....I hope you gents had and were able to enjoy the lovely weather as well...keep up the good work.

Today is about the half way of the month - how are we all doing on our goals?  This is my better first half of the month in a long time.  I'm down 3.69 miles on the bike, .84 miles on the run and 1000 yds on the swim after todays workout.

It's been 70+ here for the past few days.  Even sat outside at 10pm last night at the fire station listening to the peepers and BS'ing.  Rudely interrupted by a sick gentleman at a nursing home...

supposed to be ~70 today and I hope to get my first "real" bike ride in instead of one of those wheel-less ones.

30 degrees and sleet tomorrow....  Ugh!

I am loving this weather.  Got on my longest ride to date yesterday at 40+ miles averaging 18+ mph.

What is this "snow" thing y'all speak of??
