Team: Monkey Madness (3) Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving? I suppose for me, it's the swim. I have fair form, but still really suck wind on the breathing. I have a stroke count for a single 25 yard length of 15-16 which is decent, but really start having problems going distance. I have worked with a coach in the past, but am self-tutored currently. |

Running. I've never been much of a runner because of extermely flat feet but I'm slowly building up the miles. |

Master 1478 Southwest Chicago 'burbs | Subject: RE: Swing Into Spring Weigh-in 3/5/2007 Weight today: 146 Loss from last week: nada Team: 1 - Abekat Anarchy Discipline I'm working on: uh, yea, that'd be swimming. There are days when I wonder why it is that I'm not a duathlete. :) But - it's coming along. I don't think I'll drown this year. Or even require lifeguard assistance (of course, that's sometimes a good way to meet cute guys....) And this week officially starts my HIM training (first HIM for me!), so I'm expecting that the weight loss will come along with it. It was my birthday this past weekend, so I had a couple of days of abundant eating, but now I'll be back on track. Edited by StartingToTri 2007-03-05 6:42 AM |

Good question. I focus most on running right now but having been a Runner for 6 years now I know the running will improve tremendously when loosing more weight. So I guess it is swimming for me....

While I wish the scale were kinder to me, at least it is going in the right direction (finally.) Which sport are you focusing on? Running - I suck at this. Also, focusing on weight loss, which is not a sport, but still very important for me. |

Well, I need help in all three but most of all swimming. I won't have access to a pool until April 1st so I've been focused on the bike/run. Starting next month I really need to work on my swimming. I've got four more lessons left, but I really don't think the kid who's teaching me is a whole lot of help. I'm getting more out of the time in the pool than his instruction. I've got a long way to go before I can swim for 15 or 20 minutes comfortably. |

Running, for sure. I just barely have the distance for a 10K, but I'm slower than Christmas. I remember in my first sprint race, I got passed by just about everyone, and the only two folks I passed were walking, and one of them was injured from a fall on the bike ride. I'd love to get under a 10min/mile consistently. I can do it on a 5K, but it about kills me! |

Running, as it's my least favorite. It's easy to get on the bike and ride, and fun to get to the pool with my daughter. But for some reason, it's tough to get the runners laced up. |

Veteran 169 Salt Lake City, UT | Subject: RE: Swing Into Spring Weigh-in 3/5/2007 This week: 224 Last week: 224 Change: 0 Team: Monkey Madness I'm lucky I didn't gain with all the junk I've been eating. I need to dial it in for the next week. I took my bodyfat and it is much higher than where I want it, so that is a bit of a motivator to change things around. As for the sport, I'm focusing on the run, though I should be focusing on the swim. Edited by stone age rage 2007-03-05 9:52 AM |

Right now I've been working on the swim a lot with the thought that if I can shed a few extra lbs before I start running again, it might be easier on the knees. The run is definitely going to need some work before July though. Edited by mnsixstring 2007-03-05 10:44 AM |

This is easy...it's the running. Being a life long Florida boy the swimming is second nature. Granted, I need to work on endurance and improving from and technique, but I'm very comfortable in the water. My biking is okay, but running is the major chore for me. I never liked to run, and it's the biggest challenge for me in tri's. However, it's getting better, and there is a part of me (albeit a very small part at this time) that is actually starting to enjoy it. |
