I suppose for me, it's the swim. I have fair form, but still really suck wind on the breathing. I have a stroke count for a single 25 yard length of 15-16 which is decent, but really start having problems going distance. I have worked with a coach in the past, but am self-tutored currently.

Focusing on bike and run equally right now. Running races start next month but need more base developed on the bike.

Loss for challenge: 6 pounds

Discipline I'm working on: uh, yea, that'd be swimming. There are days when I wonder why it is that I'm not a duathlete. :) But - it's coming along. I don't think I'll drown this year. Or even require lifeguard assistance (of course, that's sometimes a good way to meet cute guys....)

And this week officially starts my HIM training (first HIM for me!), so I'm expecting that the weight loss will come along with it. It was my birthday this past weekend, so I had a couple of days of abundant eating, but now I'll be back on track.

Good question. I focus most on running right now but having been a Runner for 6 years now I know the running will improve tremendously when loosing more weight. So I guess it is swimming for me....

not too worried. bloatation and the full moon, if you know what i mean

and i am always focused on improving my run. i have been swimming and cycling since i was a kid, but running is newer (i ran as a kid...but playing capture the flag, not the kind of running i'm doing now). i started running in 94, so its been 3 years of work and i have made some improvements. one thing i'm hoping to do this year is increase my cycling fitness in order to improve my run times.

Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving?  I'm really trying to improve my run speed.  I have always had decent endurance while running but not much speed.  I think alot of this has been due to the extra weight I am carrying.  A couple of seasons ago I was running a comfortable 8:30/mile pace for a 5k in a sprint tri (at about 235 lbs).  Now I'm having trouble with keeping a pace anywhere near that.  I know I'm starting to go longer distances so I won't keep my 5k pace on a 10k but I've really want to get some speed back.

While I wish the scale were kinder to me, at least it is going in the right direction (finally.)

Which sport are you focusing on?

Running - I suck at this.  Also, focusing on weight loss, which is not a sport, but still very important for me.

Well, I need help in all three but most of all swimming. I won't have access to a pool until April 1st so I've been focused on the bike/run. Starting next month I really need to work on my swimming.

Sport I'm working on: Swim. I've got four more lessons left, but I really don't think the kid who's teaching me is a whole lot of help. I'm getting more out of the time in the pool than his instruction. I've got a long way to go before I can swim for 15 or 20 minutes comfortably.

Running:  Lose weight, and I'll get faster

Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving? Running, for sure.  I just barely have the distance for a 10K, but I'm slower than Christmas. I remember in my first sprint race, I got passed by just about everyone, and the only two folks I passed were walking, and one of them was injured from a fall on the bike ride. I'd love to get under a 10min/mile consistently.  I can do it on a 5K, but it about kills me!

Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving? Running, as it's my least favorite. It's easy to get on the bike and ride, and fun to get to the pool with my daughter. But for some reason, it's tough to get the runners laced up.

Change: -1.5  * I just had my worst week of training all year. Missed 2 runs and a bike session last week. Not sure how I continued to lose weight. I guess my metabolism is running a bit faster and eating right has helped to. If I ever put together a full week of workouts AND a full week of eating right, watch out!

Team: Macaco Mayhem

Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving? Running for sure, look at my logs. It would seem I dont even own a bike (I do). I haven't even considered swimming. I dont belong to a gym and do all my swimming in OW. Swimming won't start for me until May probably unless I join a gym. I am focusing on trying to become a runner, training for a late May marathon.

 - This doesn't make any sense!!  I'm going to weigh again tomorrow morning.  I did a great job last week and I simply will not accept a GAIN after all that effort! (This is not the way to start a Monday!)

Team: Monkey Madness (3)

Which sport, of the primary three, are you currently focused on improving? I'm focusing mostly on the run right now.  I swim like a fish (that's dead and tied to a brick) so I'm saving that for last.  I'm trying to improve on the run to build up my confidence.  Biking is okay, and usually just a matter of time in the saddle for me.

I'm lucky I didn't gain with all the junk I've been eating. I need to dial it in for the next week. I took my bodyfat and it is much higher than where I want it, so that is a bit of a motivator to change things around.

As for the sport, I'm focusing on the run, though I should be focusing on the swim.

Right now I've been working on the swim a lot with the thought that if I can shed a few extra lbs before I start running again, it might be easier on the knees. The run is definitely going to need some work before July though.

This is easy...it's the running. Being a life long Florida boy the swimming is second nature. Granted, I need to work on endurance and improving from and technique, but I'm very comfortable in the water. My biking is okay, but running is the major chore for me. I never liked to run, and it's the biggest challenge for me in tri's. However, it's getting better, and there is a part of me (albeit a very small part at this time) that is actually starting to enjoy it.
