Credit goes to Schmize for finding this link yesterday.  This is to get into the Crystal Lake Park District's online registration area.  You have to create a profile.  It is 16 bucks.  The class code for the race is 1082-0.  Entry is limited to 100 people.

Yep I signed up when loose posted the website.  Right now there are only 7 or 8 signed up for the event but as I understand it the event only needs 25 to happen and hasn't been cancelled due to poor attendance before.

Oh, trust me, it will happen.  The only reason there are only a few signed up is because online registration just opened.  I think last year there were over 60 finishers in the 2 mi race, and there were a lot of people who did the 1 mile too.  The event will happen, guaranteed.

And my opinion is that it is almost all triathletes too.  Which is cool.  Last year I went for a 20 mi. ride before the swim but I saw a lot of people getting on bikes after the race to go for rides.  Of course, they were getting on bikes AS I was coming out of the water, but that's another story.  The fun hilly areas of Bull Valley are only about 3-5 miles away from the beach.

Just signed up for the I think the 1 mile - it was $16 - what would the $20 be for? the 2 mile - or.. if i signed up for two I'll swim two.. either way I need the OWS experience.

Is there going to be a place for BTers to meet before or after the event to meet and greet? Or does someone need to try and organize it?

I'm planning on doing it!  It's good OWS and wetsuit practice for me.  I know I can sign up online, but I'd rather not -- I started going through that and they wanted me to post a credit card number as part of my profile and I didn't want to do that.  Will it be a problem to sign up on the day of?

I"m signed up for the 2-miler.

Because of that I'm going to need someone with a canoe, paddleboat or kayak to meet me at the 1-mile mark. Thanks.

Oh and the day-of signup will cost you $4 more so I think you'll be OK. Oh and the Lake in the Hills Triathlon is the following day. C'mon people!!!

I am not in I have to led a silly pace group for people training for the Chicago marathon. If I stand them up I figure I will do it when I can get a medal.

Really its kinda creeping me out also. Though the idea of you in a swimsuit would be worth it. (assuming I had the incision).

I would really like a 2 mile OWS thouigh since I am looking at a 3.1 mile coming up. Maybe I just need to call in sick that day. Volulinteers suck I know. besides its only a 7 mile day.

1 piece can look very sexy. Girls just do not understand.

I thought we were talking about a 2 mile OWS here. I think most are doing the 2 miles OWS. 2 miles is not that bad. Its like a 1 mile but just a little longer.

Yeah. It's like when my teacher wife says `Glasses make me look funny.' Uh, no, they make you look HOT! One-piece suits, especially on tri-ladies, scream the hotness.

Oh yeah leading the 12+ min pace group for the Illinios Runs training program. My job is to help the people who might fall behind the 12 min pace group. If no one does then I just run 12 min miles.
