I have had the new ride now for almost a month.  I love it.  The only thing is that I don't know what to name her.  I was thinking about "The Flying Lynx"  because it is red and black and those are my Alma Mater's colors Rhodes College.  The Mascot is the Lynx.  But I am far from sold on the name.

Any Suggestions

I'm no expert, but I think you have to walk up to a bike, take a good long look at it -- maybe even grab hold of it -- and then see what name feels right.

I bought my first road bike last year. It's almost equally white and black. I called it "Orcha" right from the start. It fits. And I love that bike.

I don't think anyone can name your bike except you -- or your friends that witness you crashing on it or someting good like that. Then they can dub it "the terminator" or "Christine" (as in the possessed car) or something like that. You get the idea.

So if it doesn't "speak" to you yet, keep riding it and a name will come.

In keeping with tradition a-la Mac and his "Mac-inator", I suggest naming it "The Schlesinator"

Name it after one of your favorites... favorite movie (or character), favorite song, etc...

I call my MTB "The Optimator" after one of my favorite beers.

Rich - Thanks for starting this thread.  My bike is the same paint scheme as yours and I haven't named it yet either.  I was researching something and this thread was on my mind.  I came across the word Skaeling.  It's an Old Norse word meaning "barbarian".  Perfect.  I now ride Skaeling into battle!

Sorry I wasn't more help for you though.

To me she looks like "The Matador" which is spanish for killing, since you will be killing the competition. Other suggestions are

Relámpago (lightning)
tiburon (shark)

bear is into red bikes and I forgot who is big into black bikes maybe he needs to put both there names into it.

Maybe if it is like 63cm bike he should forget the name and just give it to me. then problem is also solved.

I have officially decided.

ASTERION

It is from Greek Mythology.  He is half bull half man.  I think it is appropriate because my nickname used to be Bull.  And I race like a big dumb animal.

That's too funny because I was just discussing naming my bike the same thing.

Can't help but chuckle at wanting to Ride the Crimson Tide.
