trigirlkris - 2007-07-02 4:48 PM Makes for some interesting low light riding in the early morning & at dusk!

You might try the amber lensed glasses or even plain ol' clear safety glasses for low light conditions.

I always wear my sunglasses too to avoid dry out. I just bought a new pair with three lenses for the variable conditions. I'm ording a 4th set (clear) for the darkest days.

Here is to lousy vision!!!

I usually keep an extra pair in transition just in case.  Sure it would be a long transition, but I think it would be worth it instead of wearing glasses.

zipp1 - 2007-07-02 6:00 PM I wear them under my goggles. Have lost a few lenses with slippage during practice. Bought Rx goggles but they suck--leak bad and still dig into my face. Being closer to 50 than 40 my eye doc won't advise for Lasik "everybody develops cataracts at some point and we can get a better known correction at that time". My first race was pool swim, next 2 are OW and there's probably a bigger risk of losing lenses with the washing machine effect at the start. Having worn CL for 25 yrs I'm way too sun sensitive to wear regular glasses if I lose a lens on the swim. Ought to be interesting...

I was thinking about doing that. Would add time to transition but being able to see on the bike would be necessary (sort of like breathing --it isn't an option for what we do here)

Prescription swim goggles are cheap (under $30) if you are really worried.

I used to wear my contacts under my goggles, and kept a spare pair and some eye drops in transition just in case.
