I will be there, too.  Just got clearance from the tower.  Running a 1/2 mary in the morning, so I will miss the swim.  No big deal there.  Will have to catch some of the Packer game, too, at some point.  Might try and get a volunteer gig if available.  I can stay for awhile b/c I am going to stay overnight on Sunday, to register on Monday.

If anyone has a parking pass or anything like that, please let me know. I would be all over it!

Love Life!  And Donkeys, too!

Dood, if you set up a drum set on the run, I will stop to rock some funky beats.  And that's no lie.

Parking at the Alliant Energy center is really easy if you don't get a hook up for a parking pass.  I think it is $4.50 and there are shuttles continually running to the terrace.  That's what we did last year and it worked out great.

They still need volunteers. Here's the scoop:

Volunteers are still needed! If you know of someone that is interested in volunteering please have them register online at www.volunteer.wsdcregistration.com/volunteer/ironman; or have them attend the volunteer meeting with you. Specific needs that we have at this time are below.

· Transition Set Up on Saturday

· Motorcycle volunteers (must have your own moto)

· Run and Bike Course Marshals

· Trained Medical Personnel (paramedics, physicians, RNs…)

· Massage Therapists

· Bike Course Technician Drivers

I dropped the ball on tshirts so all I have is the race tops in limited sizes unfortunately.  If interested, I gotta check what is left.

Either call and leave a message (from the e-mail), or send response to (remove asterisks and spaces and sub the "@" character in for the word "at", and a period for "dot":

"pgillett at wisc dot edu"

Thanks.

Working the Capitol Square Aid Station from 12-6:30. Cell is 262-470-3648. Any Donks that are volunteering around that time give me a call or text when your shift is done and we could meet up by the finish or something like that.

I get done with my shift at 7:30 and plan to head up to the finish area about then. Are you going to have on any donkey garb? I'm working on a hat with donkey head emblems.

I'm thinking about wearing my Donkey tri- top to show support. Is that going to make me a dorky-Donkey?

I think when you're not actually being a volunteer, you should totally wear it. Which reminds me I was going to see if there were any of those left. Oops, too late now.

I should be picking up a shirt tonight that has this picture on it and "Turbo Donkey Racing" above it. It is suppose to be done this afternoon so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Look for me up by the finish line after 6:30.

I picked up my shirt over lunch and it is AWESOME. Stated laughing the second he took it out to show me. I think it for now it will be my official prerace t-shirt as it is my first donkey gear item.

My son and I made a "Go Turbo Donkeys" sign at the Janus sign station today (note his excellent scribble scrabble of a "donkey" as you're running past), and I think I put in a Run Donkey Run! electronic message for all the donks doing Moo. If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. I thought about putting in a message for all the BT'ers, but dang, that list is long.

I hope to catch you on the course tomorrow!
