RAGNAR NEWS UPDATE!

I am calling this online meeting to order!

As you all know registration is due in 2 days!! (October 31) We have received some of your money but not all. IF you have not paid PM me or Tanya to make arrangements. I can meet some of ya, or you can mail me a check. This is URGENT!

Each participant owes:

$920/12 = $76.66
**it says LESS online but they charge tax and credit card fees. I am emailing to see if there is a mail in application to avoid the $20 cc fee but will update you on that. They seem pretty excited about their online registration fancy shmancy site so lets assume this is the only way to do it.

3 questions I need answered from everyone who is doing it:

1 - What is your projected 10K pace per mile? (They want a 10K pace per team)
*I have this from some but not all!

2 - Team Name = East Side Cool Kids

3 - Open spot, see below.

GRACIAS RAGNAR BUDDIES!

Ragnar 2008 Team:
Jen
Josh
Paulette
Chris
Harry
Fitzy, er, I mean Tom
Dan
Aaron
Tanya
Jerry
Rick
OPEN SPOT We all need to work as a team to fill this spot, I know we have asked a few people and there have been some offers so let's come to a final conclusion!

We will hold a meeting when the race season calms a bit to determine legs, decorations, when to stop showering... and all that good stuff!

On November 1st I hope to change my Blog from Paid to registered, so hopefully we get settled in the next day!

Think jerseys will be printed by then?

Hey team - a guy I work with (Rocky) has qualified and done the Boston Marathon a couple of times and the Hood to Coast relay and was checking with his wife to see if he could join us .

May be a couple of days before he knows, but I will keep you posted.  As for Tri's, he just did one sprint with a pool swim, but better than none!

Paid Tanya at Paulettes spread on Saturday (perhaps I should have put my name on the cash?)

Rocky is a drinker Athlete - did tell him it was about $76 bucks and we had to get the money in, but not sure he will pay/commit before tomorrow.  My fault as I thought we were a full team and I was getting kicked off for being slowest last to reply originally.  Should have asked him earlier.

But if we can get another before hand - go for it!!!

Just thinking of people we know we could spend 24 hours in a van with...

I vote against this line of thought as I want to go too.

Couldn't we just tie Cora to the back bumper and drag her for 13 miles?

A few people are stopping by on Wednesday night to drop off money, and play GUITAR HERO III (the new one) there will probably be a leetle drinking going on. Anyone is welcome to stop in if they wish. Caboose will be dressed up in her finest and my neighborhood is crazy fun on Halloween. Its not an official ESCKTC get together, just an open door policy for anyone who wants somethin to do on halloween!

Hello? Is this thing on? Hello? Can you hear me in the back? Good.

Wow - I haven't been following the Ragnar thread, but I must've committed to this at some point. I guess this means I won't be doing the Lost Dutchman Marathon (which is okay by me).

Jen - -PM me with your address and I'll get a check in the mail to you ASAP.

10k pace? I don't know - - put me down for 8:30/mile and I'll come in faster than that.

What else do you need?

Well...I'm just sayin....you can either put on your man pants and race, or just let all the chicks around you wear the man pants instead.  Your choice.

If Chris is at 65 then by Feb I am sure I will be at 64.  I think I must have been sandbagging my earlier time.

Fitzy, I do the Sedona Marathon on the 9th.  You could run with me if it gives you more time to recover for Ragnar and we can just put our faubs in our spandex if you do not want the keys to show!

I am still wearing thongs flip-flops for the sharp rocks!

Subject: SUCCESS!!!!

Congratulations, East Side Cool Kids has been registered for the 2008 Ragnar Relay Del Sol. Your team number is 104. This email includes important race information. Please read it in its entirety and save it for future reference.

Individual Team Member Registration

Now that you have registered your team you must register each individual team member. (I am doing this as we speak and may have to do a seperate post with any questions I may have for ya'll!) You may register each individual team member online at http://www.ragnarrelay.com/captain/.You can login with the username and password specified above. You have until December 31, 2007 to submit the rest of the Individual Team Members. There will be a 10 fee for each team member registered after December 31, 2007. There will be a 20 fee for each team member registered after January 31, 2007. We will not be able to change t-shirt sizes after December 31, 2007, but you will be able to exchange t-shirt sizes at the finish if sizes are still available.
WHAT SHIRT SIZE WOULD YOU LIKE???

Substitutions

If you need to make a substitution simply login and click the edit icon in the "Sub Runner" column. This will allow you to substitute one team member for another. There is no charge for substitutions made before December 31, 2007. There will be a $10 late fee for substitutions made after December 31, 2007. There will be a $20 late fee for substitutions made after January 31, 2007. We will not be able to change t-shirt sizes after December 31, 2007, but you will be able to exchange t-shirt sizes at the finish if sizes are still available.

Three Volunteers per Team
**This could be interesting! ** But thats' what BT is for right?
All LOCAL teams must provide three (3) volunteers for the race (van drivers do not count as volunteers). Teams are considered LOCAL if they have 1 or more team members within 100 miles of any point on the course. If no one on your team lives within 100 miles of any point on the course you do not have to provide volunteers. Each team is responsible for ensuring their volunteers show up at their appointed times and fulfill their tasks. If a volunteer cannot report, it is entirely up to the Team Captain to find an alternate and make sure they report to their appointed job site. Failure of a volunteer shift to be fulfilled will result in automatic team disqualification without appeal. Beginning mid-February volunteers will be able to sign up on our web site for specific shifts that they would like to work. Shifts will last no longer than 7 hours. Responsibilities may include traffic control, exchange point management, setup and takedown etc. Every volunteer will receive an official race t-shirt, sponsor goodies, and snacks.
