  • Comments: Took about 2 minutes off from last years OA time. The 2nd place person in my AG didn't have a run time and was given a 2nd place finish time of 59 minutes (though he swam 10+ min and had a 4 min T1 and a 38 min bike), the 3rd place person was the individual start. That's some bull crockery right there! UPDATE (6/14/2010): Good News!!! The chip company that did the timing for Hawk Island recognized a mistake in my AG. Turns out, the person who was in 2nd, did not have a 8 minute 5k. So I did in fact take 3rd place! They were even so kind as to update their Results page. http://results.active.com/pages/displayNonGru.jsp?orgID=216362&rsID...

  • Comments: I don't know what it was but I was not happy on the swim or the bike. Usually I enjoy those substantially more than the run but not today. Not sure why. Maybe weather (low 60's, overcast, threat of rain and rain overnight) or I really needed more sleep last night. At one point on the bike I did question myself about what I got myself into or why I opted to do this. I'm still not sure. No groin pain, well no more than after my normal training. This is a good thing! So, now I can call myself a triathlete....I'm ready for dinner!

  • Comments: Great event, particularly if you are a beginner. Great season opener for more seasoned triathletes as well. Just top notch event. Main suggestion is that they go back to the big buoys, as the short "pillar" style ones are tough to spot if not in the first AG in the water.

  • Comments: I thought this was a goiod race. Great for beginners, and great for a short first race of the year. A little cold for me, but what a beautiful day. We had a great time and will definatley look at this in 2010 as a perfect opener.

  • Comments: This is a great race. It is very well organized. There are TONS of volunteers and they are all super friendly. And it is SO much fun seeing all of my BT friends at the same race. I will do this one again next year.

  • Comments: My first triathlon, what a day. I loved this race for what it gave me. I am so proud of what I did. I will never forget this day. I had my husband/best friend and my baby girl with me cheering me on, not to mention all the friends from BT that were there giving support to one another. I guess I am hooked. I am already starting to think about my next race. Steve, I would have never done this without you. You are my hero. I love you

  • Comments: This was such a great race! All the good things I've heard were true...great short course, well organized, and even a very cute tech race shirt that I'll actually wear in public! It was a perfect day because of all the people I shared it with, the BT RAWK'rs, the RACING GREYHOUNDS, and my Jogo! I could not have wished for a better race to get my first podium finish!!!

  • Comments: my only complaint about this race was people not following the rules on the bike...drafting was a problem, but not the biggest one. There were so many people riding down the middle or the left (yellow) side of the lane. i saw people pass bikes splitting between a rider on the left and right. if they are going to keep the course that tight next year, they need to really explain and enforce the rules. thankfully there wasn't a ton of traffic.

  • Comments: I'm always critical of myself when it comes to performance, I know. But today really was a great race! I found that I can swim well if I pace myself right. I'm happy with today's race.

  • Comments: I have nothing to compare it to, but it was a lot of fun, and we had a LOT of BT-ers there, racing AND cheering. Lots of fun. Yeah, I know I already said that.

  • Comments: This is a great little race, and a good beginner race. Fit the bill for my "practice" run before Boise 70.3. They had TONS of volunteers. All in all this is really one I highly recommend. Kudos to the race organizers. No wonder folks keep coming back!

  • Comments: Have to work on not being so CONSERVATIVE with everything. I could undoubtedly shave off a lot of time if I weren't contantly playing it SAFE. This factor alone is why longer distances are better for me. In a sprint 2 minutes is an eternity... Thankfully today it didn't matter in regards to my results. I'll take it. No complaints here. :) Fun time with family and friends. That's what racing is all about!!

  • Comments: After cooling down a bit and chilling with MI BT, my back cinched up. I made it to the car and drove home with jgrindle, but an hour later, I was a mess. I've iced, IB'ed, and now I want some heat on it. I'm hoping to get it fixed up soon, because I have another race next weekend, and its in jeapordy at this point. :(
