Pre-race routine:

Slept well. Had to get Willie up, dressed and fed before leaving. I packed and set out my stuff the night before. Willie fed and just get him his meds and juice. So grab the prozac and think OK four Advil for me. Shake out four swallow them. Grab two Advil for Will and realize that I'm going to be in pain at the end of the race but really, Really, REALLY HAPPY. Ooooops. Well we'll see what 80mg of Prozac does. Get my coffee and buckwheat pancakes. R-stops and Y drives me to Ken's office. Mike R drove to P/U M-daddy and drive to race. Gt there in plenty of time. Of course I was starting not to care. We get to go over the new bridge.
Event warmup:

Well ya know what ever. Does it really matter. A race is a race is a race. I got the number 101 wonderful. Adds up to 2. Oh yeah I gotta pee. I run around a little and try to get my shoes tried right. Lets see the rabbit, the tree and the hole. Double knot them to confuse me later. Standing with Mike R trying to find the start. Oh what a pretty flower. Meet up with Mike and Mike and Ken.

Comments:

I ran with Mike or Mike ran with me. We wanted to keep it easy under a 10:00/mile. We had to dial it back in the beginning. I can deal with that. Don't the cattails look nice against the frozen ditch. We kept the pace so we could talk. I needed to explain my psyche. With four Prozac on board what great time to do it. We had a nice run to mile 5 where we walked some. Oh what a polite police officer. We walked about 100yds. Then hurry across the street and start off to the finish. Did you ever notice the blue in the Mobile sign is really blue.

At 6.5 miles I could feel the energy disappear from my muscles. Guess I had reached to end of reserves. Knew I should had a gel at mile 4. No sweat there enough fat to help. OMG look the finish somewhere around the horizon. You could see about a mile and half of road to the finish. It was so nice that Mike R and Ken cam back to cheer us on. Why do people throw marlboro pack on the side of the road. I counted about a doz.

We sprint the last mile. Mike let me cross the finish line first. He is such a nice person. He let me go first. Thanks Mike
What would you do differently?:

Take five Prozac. Besides that nothing, I tried running right, right, left, left but the left, right, left, right thing works much better. Hope I can color after this, Madi always takes all the red crayons.

I was going to use my iPod but I had enough muffled voices in my head. Just look at my shoes they are the exact opposite.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and back to the van to get a dry shirt and regular glasses. Chicken soup they have chicken soup. It's good for the soul ya know. The photo guy took our silly picture. Whole different crowd there today. But not us we were the same people as the last time. Thank you lady for the broth, can I have some pudding now.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics and gravity. Gravity is really heavy and instantaneous. You drop something it fall right away not like the cartoons. Spring board diving would be such a different sport if there a second or two before you head downward in direction.

Event comments:

On the way home Ken brought me chocolate milk. Thanks Ken. Y made some English muffins with jam. Yum. Thanks Y. Good race with lots of traffic control from the big dangerous cars. Thanks nice police officers for being there. Nice facility, much better then the rustic lodges. Automatic flush on the urinal nice. Germ-a-phobe's paradise. So what is so bad about the Prozac nation?? Thanks for reading to the end. It's the best part cause like in racing you are done. I love peanut butter and jelly.

I have the same problems with crayons.  I can never find the one I am looking for.  Fantastic RR!  Eli Lilly might just be interested in this race report.  This scientific study may really change the way they market their products.  Have fun while running your next race.

Well, I certainly enjoyed that RR. I have to say, though, that I went to a Mobil station today, and the sign didn't look all that blue to me

Check out the picture in the lower right. Even though you're in a somewhat "altered" condition, you are the only one looking at the correct camera!

Hey Dexter,

Great race report. Nice race. I guess I'm getting a little hooked on the races and the race reports. And then I saw one from you. And I see you saw my report from a couple of weeks ago. You had a great time. Pics look pretty cold. - Ann

You are seriously demented even without the Prozac. Is that legal? Maybe they olympic team should try it
