When I am home, I drink a smoothie once per day.  My wife makes them so I am not sure what all she throws in!  Usually, fruit(various kinds), an egg, some leafy green thing(Chard, etc.), and then it goes to the blender.  Good stuff!

I am assuming you mean raw right?  Is that safe?

I drink a muscle milk for breakfast everyday.  I just dont like to eat breakfast and this was suggested as a good thing to start out the day with.  i have found that I usually eat better at lunch since I have been drinking the muscle milk.

I drink a protein shake with a banana right after lifting, and sometimes at night. I find that I am much less sore, usually.

Yes, raw. There are those that say no, it is not safe.  I am willing to take a chance.  I don't really worry about it.  I buy as good an egg as I can at a local grocery store, as fresh as possible, and hey if Rocky could down a blender full, the I should be okay with one!

When I'm building/strength training:

Always right after the workout.

As much as possible right before bedtime.  This is right before your body's longest fasting period (you have the same basal metabolic rate while sleeping as you do awake!) which means it will be the time when your body will be feeding on muscle breakdown AS WELL AS the period of time when the most muscle repair occurs in 24 hours.  You should supplement it with a protein powder mix that has fast/slow bioavailable protein to feed you through the night.

Less of a priority for me is protein immediately after waking, although this is also a great time for it.

After my workout I have a shake with protein powder (70% brown rice protein, 30% gemma protein), soy milk, flax, spinach, psyllium husk, and frozen fruit.

I had been drinking a shake in the mornings that I swam (one I made myself with whey, milk, banana, frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries) and I was finishing up the swim at like 7-7:30 and needed to get on my way to work, but I accidentally threw out my blender back in September.. I'm not sure if it really saved me any time though since it needs to be cleaned up and now I eat a few scrambled eggs and a bowl of cereal with a banana.

I usually just eat breakfast or lunch.  Never had a problem with this plan.

I drink a Met-Rx MRP every morning and a casein protein shake before bed.
And ALWAYS drink one made with whey, dextrose, glutamine, HMB immediately after lifting/working out.

I have a scoop of whey protein as part of my breakfast, mainly because it's fast and saves me from having to cook something. Plus I've been trying to reduce my meat consumption.

I also have a scoop right before bed. Mostly because by then I'm ravishing hungry and it helps take the edge off so I can fall asleep easier.

Ensure. I make my patients drink it, so I should have to drink it myself. It makes a convenient recovery meal or meal replacement.

I make my own from fruit, skim milk, protein powder, and have it after long weekend workouts. Be careful with these as they are sweet and tasty but have a TON of calories.

Whey protein shake first thing in the morning, every morning (quick, easy and feeds the body when it's otherwise going catabolic).  Every so often if I've lifted heavily, which is rarely now that I've turned to Tri's.

Nope, don't use them ever (except when I tried to become a vegetarian back during my pure cycling days - lasted about a month).

I make smoothies with Hammer Whey for breakfast maybe a couple of times a week...for variety.

I don't deliberately supplement with protein.  Logging my food intake indicates that I already get plenty of protein!

After every hour + workouts, I take Hammer Recoverite.  I have doing so for the last 5 months or so and it done seem to help with the recovery process, but the stuff is pretty pricey.

I bought the GNC whey protein powder.  I got the chocolate flavor and paid more than I really felt comfortable paying.  I came home mixed it as directed with water and tried to drink it, and the stuff was vile.  The next day I cut back on the powder, mixed with skim milk and added a little p-nut butter and half a banana and it was a little better but the aftertaste is so medicinal.  I just can't do it.  I'm going to try to find someone to give it to and just eat good protein sources of food.

Not all protein powders are created equal. Some as you discovered taste so bad it'll make you gag. I've tried a bunch of different brands over the years, but once I discovered Optimum Nutrition's whey protein I've never looked back.  When I finish a glass I crave more. And that's just mixed with water.

They offer a ton of flavors and all the ones I've tried have been good, with the exception of Vanilla Ice Cream. It's not terrible, but it's not my favorite. Then again, I tend to not like vanilla anything.

The Rocky Road flavor is my favorite so far.
