Hi
Has anyone started or scheduled any swims at Hopkinton State Park? I went though the thread but maybe I missed something. I would love to join in.

Thank you!
Cass

Hi Cass,

It sounds like Mav has already started up, she posted something in the thread I started...56 degrees as of a few days ago, that's a solid 3-4 degrees warmer than this time last year so it's certainly warm enough if you're donning a wetsuit.  Have fun!  No Season Opener for me this year as I have a commitment that weekend but it was alot of fun last year.

Hi, Cass!  Maybe a ride and a swim on Sunday morn?  The water will still be pretty cold, but probably doable after warming up with a loop or more of the course.  Any interest?  It's not as hilly as the Webster Lake course, so I might be able to keep up with you on the bike if you're up for it.

Anyone interested in next Saturday?  April 17? Let me know.

I'll probably be there on the 17th.

To get all Massachusetts posts, go to "Settings (top of screen) -> Forum Settings -> Mass Subscribe" and enable the check box for Massachusetts. Or, I think you can also toggle an individual thread on/off (scroll down to under the posts on this page).

Hi,
The Tri New England swim clinic I mentioned is tomorrow Sunday April 11 in Providence. I was thinking about heading up to the season opener course Sat the 17. If you read something about an OWS clinic on the 17 let me know.

A few of us met at Hopkinton today and did the bike course and a quick swim.  Water was a less-than-balmy 53.6 degrees and pretty choppy, but it was good to get out there and see what it would be like on race day.

Looks like weather at the end of this week will kill the water temp at Hopkinton...

ugh!  If you're up for a long swim a week from this Sunday, I'm game.  After about 10 minutes of cringing at the temp, I'm good to go long.

any suggestions on where i should volunteer?  i was tempted to ask to be a wetsuit stripper, only bc it seemed like a great way to meet a nice girl.. =P

but seriously, are some spots better than others?

We don't get wetsuit strippers until IMs.  Finish line is always good.  Or transition.

How's is Sunday looking like for Hopkinton? I think I am going to head up. Weather looks like it might cooperate even.

You in Mina, MAV?? Anyone else?
Later morning might be warmer, but I am flexible. Got to give the full wetsuit a try. It is a cheapo but I love my cheapy shorty so hopefully the full will be okay.
