Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman Clearly, the lady has serious physical, mental, and emotional problems. However. I can oddly relate to feeling better when fat. People (especially men) look at you differently when you're slim. They treat you differently. I've been fat most of my life. It's comfortable. It's not threatening. It's almost like it literally insulates you from the world. I feel like I look more youthful, glowing, and vibrant when plump. Some of my friends have said the same thing, although they're certainly not suggesting I be fat. |

To think that people can be so hateful is a sad commentary on our human existance. Do we REALLY treat each other this way? I fear for society if any of these are in-line or appropriate. |

Wear a fat suit for a day you will find the answer is a resounding yes. Shoot you don't even have to wear a fat suit and just watch people and you will see the answer is a resounding yes. It is truely sad. |

Expert 1087 Portland | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman "Simpson insists that she is healthy, despite the quantity she eats and the fact that she now needs a scooter when she goes shopping. In an effort to reach her 1,000lb. goal, she eats piles of junk food and tries to move as little as possible" This is terrible... I agree, she must have TERRIBLE emotional issues to want this to be her goal. And she has a child... what will that child grow up thinking? She also makes the comment "I'd love to be 1,000lb. It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down." Does she realize at the weight she WON'T be able to take care of her daughter? |

Yanti - there is a huge difference with being comfortable with a little fluff and trying to weigh 1000 pounds!!! I'd rather be a little soft and happy than a stick and miserable, but how is 1000 pounds HAPPY?? |

I realize this is a shocker to everybody here. There are two things here that shock me. 1. The fact that this is actually in the news at ALL! 2. That there are people that support someone destroying their life like this. I agree with some of the comments below that say that it is her life to throw away, but I hope that when she needs some kind of major surgery because of this, she isn't taking the table and doctors away from someone who takes care of themselves (relative to her) and actually wants to "live" life |

Master 2014 Ohio | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman That's really sad. First the article said that she couldn't move than 20 feet without stopping then later it said that chasing after her baby keeps her weight down. I don't know how she can chase after a baby, let alone a toddler or preschooler if she can only move 20 feet at a time. This really makes me angry. Having kids caused me to start taking care of myself. I wouldn't be a triathlete if it were not for my son and daughter. I want to live as long as I can for them. What kind of mother puts herself at this kind of risk of an early death like this? I feel bad for this womans kids. ETA: Yanti, I like you the way you are. You're radiant! Elite 3395 Raleigh | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman None of what she says holds together. She eats when she is sad, she eats when she is happy. She says that when she was dieting all she thought about was food, but now she is trying to eat 12,00 calories/day and she is putting video of herself eating on her website. To do this she has to be thinking about food all the time in her present obese state! I really think she needs psychological counseling. I feel for her kids. |

Withold all jokes about there being no money in her pocket because she spend it on fast food. 2. Withold all jokes about the physics involved when her 150lb boyfriend got her pregnant. I'll take a deep breath and just say "WOW" to the 30 people involved. |

Wear a fat suit for a day you will find the answer is a resounding yes. Shoot you don't even have to wear a fat suit and just watch people and you will see the answer is a resounding yes. It is truely sad. Heck, you don't even have to leave this site -- just keep an eye on Tri Talk and Athenas/Clydes. Some variation on "big/fat/slow/old/unserious people are gross and should get out of my way" or "A/C is just the self-esteem club for fat people that ruins my pure clean sport" should be along shortly. People (in general) will really fight tooth and nail for their "right" to look down on people who aren't naturally thin, fit, or athletic, and for the "truth" that you're a better person than someone who weighs more/eats worse/exercises less than you. |

Veteran 204 | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman This woman's story was on our Fox news tonight. She identified herself as looking like a "normal" woman (in the context of comparing to other, presumably underweight women), and said she doesn't buy into the diseases associated with being overweight. (For the record, I don't watch Fox news...my husband does and I was nearby on the computer.) :-) |

Veteran 120 Polar Bear Alley | Subject: RE: Trying to become the world's fattest woman Here's another point of view...what about her daughter that she was forced to give birth to by c-section due to her weight. From that very moment she has been hampering the growth of a child, she is unable to fully interact with her daughter and sounds like she really doesn't want to since it may cause her to loose weight - can you imagine..."mom, can we goto the park"..."nope, we can't do anything that might allow me to loose weight"...UGH! Her daughter is seeing that mistreating your body like this is ok and she's influencing her daughter to make poor health choices. She seems to have turned all attention to herself and what she needs to get her 1000lb goal, regardless if it makes taking care of a child difficult to impossible. |
