What is the best anti-fog spray for swim goggles.  I have used Speedo brand with no success.

Thanks

Spit in each goggle lens, wipe it around (or lick each goggle lens) and a quick rinse and you're good to go.

I tried spit when I first started, but it didn't work.

Then I tried the speedo spray...but found I had to spray every 2-3 swims, and wasn't willing to buy another bottle.

I went back to spit, and I found the secret is to not to spit too much, and don't rinse it out.  Spit a little in each lens...not like a whole glob...wipe around, then let any excess drip out.  Hasn't failed yet.

Foggle by SBR. I use it for swim and ski goggles and love it.

spit,

or if you really dont trust the millions of swimmers that use it, the best spray on the planet:

We used to use this for multi day paintball scenario games where you could be in the woods for 12-36 hours. mix 1 part johnsons baby shampoo (the no tears little kids stuff) to 5-10 parts water.
either put in a spray bottle or just a little shampoo bottle and rub around the lenses. you can rinse out or leave on if you mix it thin enough.

You will prune up and your skin will fall off before that stuff unfogs.

Spit...and when that quits working well,  I coat the insides of the lenses with my sons baby shampoo and I'm good to go again.

A good number of goggles come with an anti fog film on them. Don't touch the inside of a new pair of goggles and it will last longer. I wear an old school pair and the best advice I could give is to start with a dry pair of goggles when you put them on. No moisture = no fog.

this is true. i also start with dry ones, and dont spit in them until sometime through the workout when i take them off and they get wet.

The best products I've found are made for scuba diving. In diving class they teach you to rub toothpaste on the inside of the new mask and then rinse it VERY well. Do this two or three times, the toothpaste removes a film that all goggles and masks get from the manufacturing process.

I use the Sea Gold Anti Fog gel every time immediately prior to swimming. It's available from SCUBA.com.

I also start each swim with dry goggles.  I have tried some cheap TYR anti-fog spray.  I only used it a few times, but it didn't seem to help too much.  I might not have let it sit and dry long enough before immediately hopping into the pool.  Oops!

Toothpaste, I have a tube in my bag any way so nothing else is needed.  BTW was told to use TP by some divers and works great, spit only last so long.

Thanks for the quick response, and advice.  Not that there is much to see in the pool but when practicing sighting it has been a pain the butt.

I will try them and see what works.

J&J Bay Shampoo. Works great and doesn't irritate the eyes. Put a tiny drop inside each dry lens and smear it around then rinse when you get in the water. I keep a travel size bottle in my bag. Open the cap and poke a small hole in the inner seal. That will make it easy to squeeze out a tiny drop instead of having huge globs come pouring out to be wasted. Doing it like this a small bottle will last you about a year.

"500 psi" is made for scuba diving. It works great. I use it for swimming and diving. If you have a dive store near by, stop in and ask them. Any good anti-fog spray or gel made for diving should work great for swimming.

Toothpaste is generally used just for the first time to scrub away the film from the manufacturing process.  After that, most divers use antifog gel or drops, or spit.  I use drops in my dive mask, but spit for swimming.

I'm going to have to try the Johnson Shampoo idea for my next time paintballing.

I've also had very good luck with Cat Crap. http://www.amazon.com/Cat-Crap-Glass-Lens-Cleaner/dp/B002ZNA488

Spit.  If it's really bad I use a bit of Sea Gold, which is a scuba mask anti-fog gel.

Baby shampoo poolside right before the swim will easily last 2+ hrs without fogging. I keep it in my swim bag.
