Steady as she goes mate!  I am learning to eat better, but have found that I loose less when I try to extremely modify my diet.  I just keep it pretty clean and low bad fats, and the scale is going my way!  Steady losing 2# a week!  10K coming this weekend and I have a goal to do it under 1:05!  It will be a struggle, but I am up for the challenge.  Most of all, I am very happy!  Thanks team skinny.
Dave.

I just don't understand my body.
I forgot to weigh in yesterday and was dreading it this am.
I've been eating chips and dip and full fat ice cream - even bought a chocolate bar - ugh!

I did just end my period, but I LOST 2 LBS!

166.5

I'm not taking this as a cause and effect, but at least I didn't get set back.
Had a good day at the gym.

Todays eating was pretty awful and I could tell the difference. When I was eating my healthy snacks and salad with chicken and fat free dressing for lunch I was feeling full of energy all day. Today I had chicken fingers and fries for lunch and I am definitely feeling the effects of all those carbs. I am trying not to fall asleep at my desk. But I will definitely be back on track tomorrow. Now I have to make sure to not miss any workouts so I make sure the number on the scale keeps going down.

Hola team skinny, I'd like to play too...

About a year ago I lost 40 pounds in possibly the most unhealthy way possible (pretty much just not eating for a month due to stress and depression), but was absolutely thrilled with how I looked and felt.  I was actually 'thin' for probably the first time in my life.

Fastforward to today, and I've gained back about 10 pounds in the last month because of not really caring what I put into my stomach.  Ice cream?  Sure, I deserve a delicious treat now and then.  AYCE sushi?  Well, I'm out with friends, so I gotta!  Tasty Easter goodies?  Of course, it would just be plain rude not to!

So now I'm starting on this triathlon journey - and I absolutely LOVE the working out part of things.  I've never been one to shy away from a physical challenge, but it's the nutrition part that always seems to get me.  I know as I'm putting fatty crap into my mouth that I shouldn't be eating it, but I just haven't been able to stop myself over the last month or so.  I'm thinking that the 2 MOO plan might just be the way to go!

Current 04/15: 142
Goal for 04/30: 139

Welcome Blueeyedbiker. You may have noticed that we weigh in on or about Wed's. The key thing is to weigh in the same time and day each week. If you need nutrition ideas I am sure we will be able to help. Remember that food is FUEL....

Well done to everyone diong so well thiose losses look awesome, both the big ones and the small.

And for those of us not seeing the results yet stick with it, it's the end goal that matters and changing habits for a lifetime is always going to take time and persistence.

Welcome bikergirl.
I find that when I workout, I just naturally go for healthier food. Start by adding the good stuff - eat lots of fruit - add veggies to whatever you are eating. Not being hungry will help you resist temptation.
I know that I have to change my thinking on fatty or sugary food. It is not a treat - its actually being mean to my body to eat that, not even counting the emotional toll it will take as I berate myself later.

Thanks MuscleMomma,

As a general statement, I usually eat pretty healthy and clean.  Lots of veggies (could do better with the fruit), only lean meats, and I don't really use any condiments... but this last month has seen me eat stuff that I would normally not even consider!  I'm not a big fan of chocolate, never have been - but over Easter, those evil Cadbury mini eggs found a way past my lips seemingly on their own!  I was eating without thinking and without regard to the consequences.  I was self-sabotaging in the worst way.  I still don't know WHY I was doing it, but I've been much more conscious over the past week about what I'm consuming and I actually woke up today feeling not so bad about myself!

Love this thread! I want to join.

I am female and started training last August for a marathon. Lost 25 pounds while training.
Unfortunately I got a snowboarding injury in January (hip and knee) and could  not run. So instead of looking for other ways to exercise; I just quit altogether and have gained all the weight back and then some.

I've decided to train for a triathlon and start eating right again. I love the encouragement in this thread.

My current weight is 188.1

Can I brag a little to my fellow Team Skinny members?  I ran 1.4 miles today without stopping, took a walk break and then ran another mile.  I'm so proud of myself, I can't believe how far I've come in the last 2 and a half months.  I rock, and so do all of you.

Awesome!  You are the (wo)man!  I can remember like it was yesterday (it was actually less than a year ago) when I hammered out my first mile without stopping.  Just earlier this year I ran my first hour without stopping.  The milestones keep falling!  I was a 260# couch tater about a year and a half ago, and have gradually worked my way back down to a not quite svelte, but in a lot better shape 222 pounder who just today finished a 10K race in under an hour! (56:36).  Very exciting.  Keep setting goals and knocking them down, that is progress my friend!

Yea for you!!! You have a right to be proud. You are now officially an athlete!

I don't get it, but I have reached my goal weight for the month. I haven't worked out in a few days, and I've been having sweets at night and I'm losing weight.
This seems like a pattern, not losing when I should and then falling off the wagon, then losing. I'm tracking everything to see what's going on, but of course when I am not doing well with food is when I'm usually not keeping track of it - when I'm off - not eating well goes with not making time to record etc.

Have to assume it is part of a bigger picture. What makes me sad is the sense that if I can't see what sense it makes, I can't be in control of it. I eat well and gain, binge and lose...

Thanks Dave.  Very nice job on the 10K, and on the great weight loss.  I'll be running my first 5K since high school in the fall and I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to it.  Funny thing is I never liked running in high school, I just did it to hang out with my friend Tara.  I've learned a lot from reading the threads here.  Instead of going all on a run, I've slowed it down considerably and that has helped me go longer.  At the beginning of February I weighed 235 and thought I'd never be able to run.  Here it is 2.5 months later and I'm down to 208 and I can run well over a mile.  You all really helped to motivate me.

Congrats on reaching your goal weight for the month MuscleMomma.  I'm not sure what is going on with your scale, but perhaps you just take a long time for results to show up in the scale?  Maybe when you are gaining while doing well it is delayed gain from doing bad, and when you are losing when you are doing bad it is the loss that should have showed up while you were being good?  I want to lose the weight quickly, but I know it's better to take it slow, so on certain days I do convince myself to raise my calories (but with good foods) so my body doesn't adapt to the lower calories (something my body does very quickly).  Good luck with figuring things out and getting it under control, I'm sure you can do it.

WOO HOO!!!!!! Bragging is always acceptable at Team Skinny. I love my walk breaks, They just seem to really help me feel better. My walk breaks are normally 15 - 20 seconds and I feel like a new (old) man.

WARNING - The following post contains and moaning...

Yes, I know that I shouldn't try to micro-manage my weight, but yesterday when I visited a friend and didn't eat any of the cheese, chips or desserts only to gain a lb. today!
Three days of sweets and chips - down two lbs.

I know, I've got to stay the course over the long run... but it blows!

That's the worst!!! I passed up the most incredible chocolate cake yesterday to find myself up 3 lbs today. The injustice! Hang in there.

March 31 - 215
April 7 - 213
April 14 - 209
April 21 - 207

Goal was 208 so I already hit it, guess I should have aimed higher.  I'm on track to be sub 200 before the end of May (yay!).  I got up late today and knew I couldn't fit in a long walk/run before hubby left, but I still managed to walk a mile and run a mile - something is better than nothing.

Otter, sorry to hear about the kidney stones.

Garceau glad your back is doing better, great job on doing a 5K.
