Event warmup:

Nothing. Did not stretch, did not run. Typical for me.
Swim
  • 12m 9s
  • 800 yards
  • 01m 30s / 100 yards
Comments:

They did not show individal results for each stage this year.I used my heart rate monitor to keep me from going crazy. Watched a life guard dive in after someone.
What would you do differently?:

Use my ear plugs to stop me getting Dizzy
Transition 1
  • 05m 1s
Comments:

The talc powder in my socks really helped my wet feet go into them. Extra time was taken putting my arm warmers on. A little dissapointed they did not score T1.
What would you do differently?:

Put talc in my arm warmers?
Bike

Comments:

Again the results did not show individal rankin. I felt good. I made myself go slow the first half and then had some great sprints the second half. Knocked off about 10 mins from last year. It started out with drizzle and cold but after while the sun cleared. I caught alot of people on this route. I dropped my second GU gel pack...whoops
What would you do differently?:

Take more Gel than i am going to use in case i drop one again.
Transition 2
  • 01m 41s
Comments:

I still will not jump off the bike. Just feel it is too dangerous for me anyway. I left T2 with my gloves on as i thought i was going to be colder than it was on the run. I always get cold hands.
What would you do differently?:

Leave gloves in T2
Run
  • 54m 23s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 08m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

So i set out to keep my HR around 130BPM. I do not know what is is about races but it so easy to run harder and not feel as much pain. i pushed it up to 140 BPM after 2k. I was still feeling good. SO i kept it at 148BPM until 7K point. I was overtaking people!! After the 7K i kept it to 160BPM was was my top limit for sure. I fully enjoyed the run and felt like i was going fast. No problems hurting or cramps afterwards. I knocked off 9 mins from last year!!
What would you do differently?:

NOTHING i was very pleased with the run.
Post race
Warm down:

Got some water, PB and J

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My weight is higher than i would like it.

Event comments:

For the money this is a great race! $40 for an Olympic is very good value. The Sprint is the same price. Hope to be back next year and weigh less.
