So before I post my official goals for the month I would like to know what is a reasonable weight loss goal. I was thinking  -25 lbs that would take me to 210. I don't know if that is a reasonable goal for myself. Some advice on the subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd be pleased as punch (maybe water is a better choice?) to join you in July. As of Saturday I was at 227.8, I'd like to get to 220 by the end of July. I'll weigh in later today to provide a more current estimate.

I have a sprint tri on August 7 that I'm getting ready for.

I think 2 lbs a week is usually a good guideline. If you are well above 200, you could try for a bit more. 25 in a month is probably too much - but I don't know you or your situation so that is just my two cents.

I'm back again and will be here every month until I reach my ultimate goal, what ever that is. Sorry for the threat but you guys really help keep me honest knowing I have to post my goals and weight every week. So here we go,

I hit 185 this morning so I think I'll pick 178 as my goal for July.  That sounds so much better than the 235 I was.

I'm in for the month of July. Hit my goal for June, which was to get out of the 170s. Weighted in today at 169.5. Looking to weight 165 or less by the end of July. I'll be visiting my family for 2 weeks at the end of the month, so that will present some challenges. I would love to be in the 150s by the end of the summer.

Well as for a Goal I am going to go easy on myself being I am on vacation next week my goal will be to maintain weight for the week. Although we will be hiking, biking, walking, kayaking and scuba diving... I won't be sitting still that is for sure... I just hope we don't over do the eating... and we make good choices.

But I am going to set a stretch goal for 229.5 Just so I can say I am in the 220's

KADAMS- I am thinking 2 or maybe max 3 lbs a week would be awesome. If you lose more so be it, but for now lets set a goal you can attain with out straining.

That was the freedom that caught my attention too.  I want the freedom to bare arms.  Very clever, Saling.

OK.  I fell off the Team Skinny bandwagon in June, but I am back for July.  I weighed in this morning at 135.8 and my goal is (as always) 130, until I reach it.

Hi everyone!
I'd like to jump i non this month of freedom! I have been trying to lose the "last 10-15 lbs" for the last 2-3 years... it's always 1 step forward 2 steps back! very annoying.

anyway... my goal is modest, but hopefully achievable.

MY GOAL = lose 4 lbs this month

not sure when the "official" weigh in is, but right now I weigh 153.5, so would be nice to get just below 150 by the end of the month. Laughing

You know I am back in...hopefully with some serious progress. My runs are progressing I am able to sustain longer and more frequent runs with no injury. So hopefully that equates to some good weight loss.

I am not exactly sure my weight as of this morning due to my fluctuating and inconsistent scale, but whatever the fact, I want to weigh 196 by August 1. I believe I weigh about 203-4 which was roughly my goal for June. I'm planning to buy a scale today.

With a goal of 196, this will be the first time I've reached under 200 pounds in 4-5 maybe longer years. I'm excited as hell! I do need to pull my eating back into check and start writing things down. Though I'm not eating bad or anything, since I haven't been good about eating at home at night, I need to reel this back in.

Oh and I started bearing arms this past month so I thought your Freedom post was awesome!!!

I have been pretty intense with daily exercise of about 30-40min and daily calorie counting to keep the weight coming off rapidly.   I think that a average of 1.5-2lbs per week is doable if you stay really consistent with both exercise and counting calories.  

Over the last 4 weeks, I went from 214 to 206.  I only missed one day of exercise and stayed under 2000 calories all but a few days.  To maintain weight for me is about 2,700 calories.  Some days I was as low at 1500, most days were around 1700 and a few times I went a little over 2000.  I think the 1500 is too low for me and I started to up the calories the last week to be more around 1800 to 1900 daily.

3500 calories is 1lb.  So it is just a matter of math.  For me, I am working on a 700-1300 calorie deficit each day.  At 1300 calorie deficit, it takes 2-3 days to lose 1lb for me but that deficit is not realistic everyday.  So to lose 2lbs you need to have a deficit of 1000 calories per day.  That is doable if you exercise everyday and burn 250-500 calories a day exercising. 

You want to be careful not to put your body into a mode where it thinks it is starving and then it will want to pack on the weight once you go off the diet..

If you are doing longer and more intense workouts than what I described, you will probably have to up your calories to have the energy to complete them.

I am using Sparkpeople to count calories.  That may be helpful to you.

Hello everyone. Good to see so may new faces. Sorry you're stuck with mine again. I made my goal last month. Weighed in at 199.8 last night (finally under 200). I'm hoping to get below 195 in July. If I keep up with my training, I know I can do it. I just have to keep myself going. Looking forward to a new month.
