Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls, children of all ages, let's get together and drop some tonnage.

I've been as high as 349, as low as 237, and currently bopping around at 279.

Frankly I'm tired of it.  With the hysteria of Magic Mike coming out tomorrow, I want to be in the sequal.  Perhaps then when I wear my suspenders I'll look more like the handsome firefighter type than Oliver Hardy.  Although losing the derby and the toothbrush mustache should help some there.

Anyhow, I'm in for 100, anyone else?

OK, yeah - we all "started" at different times, but I'm on this train.

Highest weight was over 360. Started tri training at 285. Now at 245. Goal: 180 - half the man I used to be.

So I'm down over 100 lifetime, but since starting SBR, I have a separate 100 mark.

As always - 90% diet - 10% training.

I am in, currently at 287, been as low as 227 and as high as 297.  I have been trying to lose this weight for about 8 years now and never can stay focused or motivated.  Turning 41 next week and I am tired of feeling like crap and being tired all of the time.  I am in it with you if you will have me as part of your group.

I'll take all comers happily.

My training just hasn't been consistant since I decided to do B2B HIM in 2010.  I pretty much stopped training, still did the race, and took 17 months to recover.

With our weather forecasts being in the 101-108 F range (that's 41-43C or so, I think (if I managed the rough maths in my head properly)) I should be able to drop at least 20lbs in water just by mowing the lawn for an hour.

Good luck all!

I topped out at 247 in Feb but have been working hard since then.  Right now at 208 but happy to have company for the last 30!

Going to try to jog 3 miles today, usuallt wouldn't be too difficult but the 95-105 temperatures with high humidity will make it challenging.

Me too.

I have been as high as 269 and as low as 173. Trained well until June last year, raced twice... but I didn't handle a stressor very well and up I ballooned last winter and this spring. I'm 257 right now. Training again, though, and eating well (have to... but that is related to that stressor and is about DH's health more than mine).

Count me in too! I'm a newb to the site, but have been lurking around for a week or so. Now its time to jump in. I've read several inspiring posts on here, and am hoping to someday add my own.

I'm 6'1" and 295lbs. I'm recovering from back surgery which I had two weeks after my 30th birthday. Since I haven't been able to be all that active recently, I've taken this time to work on eating better and less. I'm down 17lbs so far with minimal exercise. Diet will be the biggest obstacle for me. I've always been a big guy, but I've also always been fairly athletic.

So how does everybody plan to reach their goals? For those that have already lost quite a bit, what kinds of things have worked for you?

I am using a weight watchers point system plan that isn't weight watchers, but might as well be. I am also following a training program or three that I have found on this site. I am down 11 in two weeks.

Count me in. After 2 winters of MFR and EMT classes while working up to 60 hours a week, I ballooned up to 344 LBS. I have a goal of 244 Lbs by April of 2013. My motivation is to get off the BP meds and now the Gout meds. sore wrist (Gout attack for (3) months) has kept off the bike and out of the gym. July 1st is my day to start back at it!

I hadn't really made any grand plans for the thread, but I certainly can make some overwhelmingly average ones.

If we would like to make some challenges, that's certainly doable.

With Le Tour just starting, lots of people like cycling challenges presently.  With the heat many of us Amerilanders are having, swimming is a good option too.  But some of us that have more than just one screw loose like to really try to break ourselves with a good run challenge in the heat.

As a general rule, I like activity challenges better than weight loss challenges.  Simply, each person is different, and a 2 pound (or 1kg) loss might be good for one person, but not good for another.  With that in mind, I'm not about to worry about % of weight lost.

So we can then decide on a weekly or monthly goal.  I like weeks personally, because you can adjust it as life changes.

Well.

I will shoot for 70 miles on the bike for the rest of the week.  And also to not eat like a starving herd of omniverous vermin.

Sounds good Chaderbox. I will start with 15 miles running this week and 30 miles on the bike and will go from there.  I will post next Monday (likely several times before then) with regard to my progress on these goals.  As far as weight loss, I will likely post my weight each Monday though will not set any weekly weight goals as long as i make progress each week.

One caveat is that running for me probably constitutes a light jog for most.

I'm on a training schedule and I don't yet ride a 'real' bike but I will add this:

2000 meters in the pool

20 miles on the stationary bike

3 miles on foot

Tis the best I can manage at the moment me'hearties.

Weighed in this morning, the scale said 295.5, so down another 2.5.

I'm with you guys in that I don't want to set weekly weight goals, but rather set weekly workout goals. I figure between that and proper diet, the weight will come down.

My goals for the week are 40 miles on the bike, and two hours in the pool. Also, track everything on myfitnesspal.

Sounds good all.

For the record, you can just call me Chad.  Or even "Hey, hey you."  Bonus points for the first person to correctly name the movie reference there.  Let's see who knows their 1982 animated movies..

Joining in - if that's ok!

I don't have 100 to lose anymore (down 100 from highest in 2001), down 10 since 6-11-12.  Hoping to lose at least 4 more before A race this year on 7/15/12 and another 15 before B race on 8/11/12.

Start was 214.5

Today: 204.5

This week goals:

run: 10 miles

swim: 5000m, additional 1 mile in open water

bike: 2 hours (1 spin class and one road ride)

weight: Lose 2.5 pounds

Goals for this week...

Swim: 5000 Yd. Did 2500 yesterday, so halfway there.

Bike:30 miles. Still getting my bicycle butt back, so I anticipate two rides of roughly an hour each. Bonus points to self if I do a third.

Other: Learn something new and bike maintenance.

Ok well unfit fatty here (this is kinda like group therapy). I have just started the free sprint program from here, so I guess my goal is just to complete all the workouts (although my swimming is much better than my running or riding, so i may do longer on those ones).

I am also still very new to clip in peddles and shoes, so I will have a goal of not falling off when I stop again (yes I have once).

Thanks for the support so far guys, I appreciate it.

Dude, we all fall off, it's cool.  Just remember, always fall left, that way you don't mangle your gearing.

I guess I am, once again, the heavyweight champion.  I started Weight Watchers with the wife and I was 396.  I am down to 358.  Eventual goal is to reach my boot camp weight of 210.  So that would equal a 186 pound loss.

I just started using the training logs today and am using my own sort of program loosely based on the Couch-to-Sprint plan.  I have a goal this year of completing the Blueman Tri (Reading, PA) in October.  Then next summer, to celebrate my 55th birthday I want to do an Olympic, possibly the Nation's Tri down in DC.

My goal for this week, just to get all six workouts in.  Mon/Thu are walking a mile, Tue/Fri are cycling the 4.5 mile loop, and Wed/Sat are tethered swims for time (not distance) in the neighbor's pool.  I don't want to be one of the super-slim bodies, even if I could be.  I really liked my Parris Island body, I HAD A SIX PACK!  Strength training will be a Total Gym (Think Chuck Norris infomercials) workout Mon/Wed/Fri.

Is it realistic to hope to "run" the 5k in October if I'm just starting to walk now?  My plan is to walk it if need be, but I AM going to finish!  My bike, for this year anyway, is a Fuji Palisade urban commuter model.
