Pre-race routine:

Banana, bread/ honey and some water.
Event warmup:

went out to swim and my tinted goggles broke! glad they broke before the race. went and got my clear goggles with enough time for a 2 minute warmup swim.

OK swim, got hit and kicked alot. someone was drafting me the whole time, they kept hitting my feet no matter where I moved to. after last buoy, swam straight into the sun and could not see since I had to change to my clear goggles last minute.
What would you do differently?:

pack an extra pair of tinted goggles!

holy crap this transition got me! I didn't wear sandals like most people did but I definetly should have. they just redid the road and it hurt my feet horribly!!!

felt good biking. the road was terrible in spots due to the repaiving going on. just glad I didn't flat. butt got a little sore by the end of the ride. wish I could have finished stronger.
What would you do differently?:

should not have stopped at the water stop to refill water bottle! I did the first one on the fly but for some reason stopped for the second. ended up losing a couple minutes and i didn't even need the water!

started out feeling great! then i had to walk at the water stops. then my calfs started cramping and toes would curl. ouch! tried to run from water to water. slowly but surely I made it!
What would you do differently?:

try not to stop running!
