To my donkai  - typically we have had a Donkey Man on Memorial Day - but last year and this year that just does not work.

SO

In its place, and in preparation for long distance racing, we will have our FIRST  Half Azz'd Distance - 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile ride nad 13.1 Run.  Tentatively it will be scheduled for JUNE 29th- Saturday Morning starting at 7am with the swim.

The thought is to have bikes in pairs so everyone has a partner.  WE will use the Elkhart Oly course twice and do two loops of the lake for the run.  It ends up being slightly over the 70.3, but Donkeys go a litlle further.

If you are interested post it here.  Right now I have 3 guys doing this and we will hold a 17-19 mph pace.  But we can add some  other groups at different speeds.  The entry fee is nothing for this great training day and then afterwards we will spend QUALITY time recovering with Beer and Lake time.

Let me know if you are interested, I may even look at Shirts for Finishers

We shall see

Looks like we actually have nothing on the calendar that weekend (which doesn't happen to often in our house). We are a tentative maybe possibly yes.

3 questions:

Is there a clydesdale division? Is it chip timed? and do we get medals for finishing?

I cannot move the start time to 8 because I do have some family events that day.  This may actually cause me to move the event all together.

Let me know if anyone has ideas for a a weekend beside 4th of July.

Thanks

my thoughts -- I think I'll have another beer.... other than that, I am thinking either day works for us, but you'd have to ask my wife. I just go where she tells me.

Would like to attend one of these events eventually, but it definitely doesn't work out for me this time around.  I am doing DC the week after so probably best not to do 70.3+ the week before during my taper.  In addition, it looks like I will be visiting family out of town that weekend.  Thanks for the generous offer and have fun out there and keep up the good IM training...........EEEEEEAAAAAAAW!

Scott

I just had a couple of problems, I could count the number of triathlons I had contested at zero. Secondly, I could count on one hand the number of times I had been swimming in the last 17 years.

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.
