I *think* it all went really well.  I talked both with the head of HR as well as someone who does the equivalent of what I do to give me an idea of their day to day... sounds like it could be a perfect fit, unless my current firm decides they want to bump my salary up to 250k/yr and allow me to work from the Bahamas over the winter...

EEEEK!

Yes, which is why it's much more practical to move there.

Hey TAN!

Note to self, always check what is going on in Nashville before booking a trip! Due to Fan Fare and the CMA's, hotel rooms that I normally pay $190 a night for are going for over $300!!!  Crazy!

Heading into Sunday's IM 70.3 at almost the exact same weight as four years ago.  Ugh!  I miss my IM 140.6 weight.

That's shocking.

I played with the calculator.  I would have to DOUBLE my weight and get to 480 lbs...  WOW.

Plus I'm already "fat" so I have a head start...

IKR?  I wonder why the pt has knee pain???????  I see BMIs in the 40s daily.  I usually get one over 50 once or twice a week.  Normal is considered under 25  I don't know who picked that number but I think it should under 27.  Probably less than 10% of the pts I see are under 25

Ever deal with someone missing the forest looking at trees?  I'm sure you have.

OMG, I have an architect confused about a sidewalk that's built straddling the lease line.  They're in a kerfuffle about who builds the remaining two feet past the lease line or how to handle it - the owner or the tenant.  We have been going back and forth FOR DAYS about these "limbo" areas when I finally broke it down that he is making a huge deal about a 2' strip of sidewalk that's 75' long.  That costs $600 bucks to build in a project that costs MILLIONS AND MILLIONS.

I told him to pick a contractor to do it all so it's consistent instead of one contractor doing 4' and another doing 2' then the other contractor give them $600 for the effort of doing it all.  I also mentioned that we probably spent TWICE that going back and forth via email about it.  Some times technical people get SO hung up about some phantom line or some detail and miss the fact it's just not that big of a deal.  Just pick something and GO.

going through that on a project here - we are redesigning one component of an injector and everyone is freaking out about this diameter that is like, 3 microns larger than we would like it, so spending tons of time on drawings, analyses, etc.  meanwhile, one component the material we are investigating literally VAPORIZES when i weld creating this "honeycomb" pattern so the part leaks, and therefore doesn't do its job (because i have to 100% inspect for a hermetic weld).  instead of focusing on identifying the right material, all anyone wants to talk about is this diameter.  GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE.

nerds unite.

It is worse when you let the quality guys get involved and they have an idea or a decision about the process. I have fixed more "Quality" issues that mean nothing on parts than anything else in my career.

ie currently arguing about a heat shield that has an ECN in the system. Think we would fight over the new cutout on the part (shape change) nope now we are debating with the customer (senior quality) who wants to see us change the material from 0.4mm thick to 0.42 mm thick. I said sure our designers are arguing. etc etc. Um our material is spec'd at 0.4mm +/- 0.05mm so if he wants 0.42 let him have it. I can be at 0.4mm and be in spec. half the time it comes in at 0.45mm because the steel supplier wants to bill as much as possible and sell as much as possible.

FACEPALM anyone want to talk about the new cut out and let me know if it clears the oxygen sensor you installed. Anyone? no ok.

and if the quality guy says irregardless one more time I might punch him. My English sucks but this "self proclaimed genius" is much worse and he continues to mention how smart he is Every meeting. He is in the mensa club you know.

ordered a new leather corset for the girlfriend she was looking at. She doesn't know I ordered it and leather chaps for the motorcycle. (debauchery to come later)

Sadly that is all. Taking kids to fair in town, getting scuba equipment ready for a dive on sunday. First dive of 2014 season if I get the gear ready.

Soccer tonight with kids. Maybe Campfire in back yard with beers and smores.

And thanks for telling me to suck it up yesterday and ride. 13 mph on ride out was rewarded with 23.5mph on way home. I have been so lazy but slowly getting back to running and keeping knee issues at bay.

You're more than welcome

The hardest part is often just getting out the door.   I use Yanti's little mind trick often... just tell yourself "I'm may not do the workout, but I'm at least going to step outside the door", etc... and just keep doing that until you've taken enough steps that you're ready to just get on and do it.

Leather corset and chaps for the lady?  BC BC.

I feel fat at 28 BMI (right now).  My highest was 35. My BMI at IM CdA was 26.5.

To avoid a myriad of injuries (joint pain to your knees, ankles, hips, shin splints, foot pain, bruises), it’s invaluable to find the right running shoes.
