That looks so lovely and peaceful.  How did you not just swim out to the boat and climb aboard to sail away for a day or two?

because the water in Esperance is FRICKIN FREEZING in the middle of summer it might get to 60* in the middle of winter (as it is here) it would be more like 45-50* so no swimming today

Hm.  I see your point.  So sorry you had to settle for just running past it.

There is an Antarctic current going right at this area, so yeah, it's gonna be cold.

Shows you how much I know about geography/oceanography.

I was curious and looked it up.

That looks like fun!!  It fits right in with my training schedule too (such as it is at the moment).  Are you gonna do it or are you just prompting me?

Looks like DS2 and I are gonna do it. Waiting to hear from DS1 and SIL. DH says no, too big a crowd. DS2 and I are joking about what name to put on our bib. He said Obi wan Kenobi, I said Ihenacho.

Cool!!  I'll see if DH wants to do it too.  He might not - he hasn't been running much these days.  Maybe we can arrange for the DH's to meet us at the finish with chocolate milk.  In line with your Donut Dash, we could go to Lucile's and have beignets.  Or Voodoo Donuts, although I'm not all that keen on waiting for 45 min. just to get in the door.

I think DH will be waiting at "home" on this one. He's not a fan of crowds. Funny, reading the description my first thought was Ooooh Massage, my second was that DS2 will finally get a medal.

Manatees, I have a confession to make.  I just ate a funnel cake with fresh peaches, cinnamon sugar, and honey.  And I'm now going to slip into a food coma for the rest of the afternoo......

Mmmmmm funnel cake. I'm sure the peaches, cinnamon and honey offset any bad calories...

I figured it would be good training for when I go to the eastern shore of Maryland tomorrow for a few days.  Plus, peaches and honey are healthy, right?

I have a headache.  Go figure.

well that would explain why when I swam as a kid my lips turned blue. Believe it or not when I was about 15 I did the annual 1.5k swim through in this water, no-one used wetsuits and it wasn't in summer. To me there is only one thing worse than freezing water and that is seed weed - it freaks me out.

Most lunchtimes even in the middle of winter there are a hardcore few that do a lunchtime swim in those temps, some of them suit up but more than one of them just heads out in their jammers, me I can't even get my feet in the water at this time of the year. Even in the middle of summer you need a full body wetsuit and a lot of pee to keep you warm.

HEY KIDS!

I've been busting my butt the last few days running between Boston and home getting a 2nd FIT opinion and trying every saddle ever made.

DAMN YOU to the person who suggested DASH saddles! LOL (was it Chris, maybe?) Anyway, by far the most comfortable saddle I tried - I'm about 2 steps away from being that desperate to spend $400 on a carbon saddle. HOLY CRAP!

Ok, back to work!

BT really hates me for some reason!  Now, in addition to not giving me post notifications, I can't upload from my Garmin b/c it doesn't recognize my 910!  Apparently, BT wants me to go back to the 310.  What's up with that???

Holy Moly, that better be one sweet saddle!!  I think Chris should contribute to the saddle fund since he turned you on to the DASH

I go through Training Peaks because the upload from Garmin is messy. There was some discussion (maybe while you were out galivanting around Alaska) about a possible direct automatic upload from Garmin to BT, similar to the new upload to Strava.

i never had an issue uploading to BT until I upgraded to the new garmin stuff (whatever it is called).  Since then, BT only sees the 310!  weird.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
