Are you mixing the Viagra with the Endurolytes? 'Cause that's a no-no.

I'd be on my bike 24x7 if I had this "problem."

Left, right doesn't work for me, have to lay it up along the trail to adventure.  Of course I wrap mine around my waist as well

What do you average for cadence?

If my cadence gets over 100 I get this problem too.  Usually doesn't happen on rides but during spin class when we do sprints every once in a while it produces too much motion which results in a 'salute'... not fun during spin class!

Do you have large legs?  If so and you have a tight form, ie keeping your legs really close together as you spin, it would lead to more vertical motion of the general.. perhaps a change in form would help?

This brings up an interesting point that I didn't think of. I had 11-23 on my bike for my 1/2 and just recently changed it to a 11-27 to get ready for silverman.

When I rode my 11-23, I averaged high 80's/low 90's cadence. Now that I have 11-27, I average high 90's/low 100's.

Also, I do have pretty big quads/thighs/legs. I ran HS track for 4 years as a sprinter, I was really into it...I was varsity and also went to CIF finals.

Can't offer any help, but reading this thread has definitely been the highlight of my day.  Sorry for your problem, but your writing style was very humorous... well done.

Maybe you can tilt your seat downwards a couple of notches. It will take a little getting used to. You'll feel like you are sliding forward. However, it may alleviate some of the pressure with the bike seat.

Or... perhaps it's the bike. (I just saw your bike picture.) I would be more than happy to take it off your hands for you. It's kind of like getting rid of a beloved pet. I'll ensure that it gets taken care and ridden a lot.

Haha. This has been a great thread to read...

I'm wondering if something about your position is blocking the veins in your groin area.... causing the General to salute, um, mechanically, instead of for the usual reasons... Seems like you'd also have some numbness and such from the lack of blood flow, but...

I'd say (along with most others) mess around with your seat hight/position (left/right/tilt), and some tighter shorts to keep him corralled, to see if that helps.

I'll also ditto the guy who pointed out that the General should be front and center, standing tall, and therefore completely out of they way of the saddle (and moving leg parts...)

Good luck with that!

NO!

I had this issue with a pair of mtb shorts. They were too loose. Switching to tighter shorts took care of it.

Such an awesome thread, very funny.

Sorry, mustn't laugh at your peril.

The only advice i can offer is to wear shades - you don't want a poke in the eye mid-tri.

Great thread. Great question. Very funny. Sorry for the "discomfort."

Someone mentioned earlier about wearing a jock strap?!?! Yea? Nay? I'm curious if anyone has ever done this before? I personally never have, but theoretically, you think it would work, right?

Sorry if this is a lame suggestion...

LMAO - here's the question, how many pics of guys packages did you have to look at to find that pic? I mean really?  This is wmy you rarely see men on cycle teams NOT on their bike, etc.  Also, why MOST bike shorts made for the public are black!

I am so glad that this thread keeps returning to the top of the list.

(And yes, I had already seen the Polish cyclist group shot, thank you very much.)

*cringes*

Some of the accomodations for the "troops" appear way less/more comfy than others ... depending on your perspective, I suppose.

This goes on my list of things that would never have crossed my mind without BT.

I have seen that bike team photo soooooooo many times (on BT) but this is the first time that I noticed that one of the troops looks uncircumcised - guy on the left.

If this were in CoJ, someone would start a poll about whether he was or wasn't.

But we'd probably need an enlarged picture to make a definitive judgment call.

A little nair may help get rid of some of the chaifing... May lead to some itching later, but it would get rid of some of the chaifing...

*still cringing*

I'm a little unclear on how Nair would ease the GENERAL's problem, but then again I'm with the Ladies' Auxiliary.
