Member 166 Delco, PA | Subject: RE: Kona World Championships! Is there a way to view just the bike splits? On ironman.com coverage it only gives the overall time but doesn't give transition time, so I can't subtract end of bike from t1 and swim. |

Kienle has about 2.5 miles to go on the run and it up abut 8 min - I picked him for my Fantasy draft that bcagel is doing...so i'm happy (considering I have 2 DNF's on my team...Kessler and Zeebroek |

489 | Subject: RE: Kona World Championships! Women's race was fantastic. I can't think of many other sports where the womens race is regularly a better watch than the men. 14 minutes down at the start of the bike and winning is ridiculous. 22 seconds off THAT marathon time from last year too. Wowsers. |

Elite 7783 PEI, Canada | Subject: RE: Kona World Championships! Great race today. It's unbelievable how much better of a runner Rinny is than the rest of the women. Potts' run showed that he might just have a chance if he gets a bit faster on the bike. Only 30s slower than Frodeno (and one of the few that managed to beat Rinny. ) |

Master 8247 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Kona World Championships! Grrrr....got up early to watch some of the bike leg but was on a flight to Hanoi during the fnish. Hope they put coverage up soon online. Have one distant connection there--the sister of a teacher at another school in Saigon, who (at least used to be) on BT is competing--she's gone to Kona to watch. Will be back with her name if I can find it. (Killing time in airport now--thank goodness for free WiFi, even if too late.) Mango6383 (Sarah) Not sure of her last name as her sister's doesn't appear on the tracker in my various attempts to spell it and hers could be different anyway. She hasn't posted much lately--probably too busy training! Edited by Hot Runner 2014-10-11 10:23 PM |

Gawd I wish I got to watch that in real-time. Amazing! I was at the cottage where I have satellite internet. Right after the swim, power went out. I called the Hydro company and they said 6 hours. Yikes!!! I got the generator out, hooked it up, extensions running all over to the satellite, wireless hub. Wife walks in really happy I set it all up. "That's great, at least the stuff in the fridge is safe". Oops.....forgot about that. I moved the fridge next to the hub and saved the thanksgiving Turkey Catastrophy avoided. I almost didn't have cold beer. Great race. Note to self...don't buy those new specialized tires that Frodeno is using :-) Edited by marcag 2014-10-12 7:02 AM |

Kienle is my favorite triathlete of all time, I just know he's been injured... Yup I definitely bought into that. Aqua jogging at the aquatic center the week of Ironman where everyone will watch and see you...brilliant. Talk about some great mind games. |

She's inspirational for those of us that are a bit past our prime. Scott I. looks like she was a DNF about halfway through the bike - I have a swim split - 2:18:00 for her and then the bike splits end at about 80miles - possibly didn't make a cut-off - she had several sections with avg speed was 9-10mph |

Master 3888 Overland Park, KS | Subject: RE: Kona World Championships! She made the swim cut-off by 2 min, not finish time. Not sure of where she ended up. Tracker shows no bike or run splits for her. I heard that swim was rough, cudos for her just making that. I hope I can swim 2.4 when I'm her age. Edited by reecealan 2014-10-12 2:58 PM |

Yeah, I think the post race speech was pretty honest (even with an F bomb!) about breaking down during a recent workout (not a run, but still....) |

But he definitely did know he was playing mind games with everyone at the Kona Aquatic Center aqua-jogging. If people seem him doing that coming off an injury and he attacks the bike at 70 miles, others are probably thinking let him go he can't run 26.2 if he was aqua-jogging. |
