Great job on the cycling!

I did 48 chilly miles today, another 50+ mile planned for tomorrow. Also Got a 2 1/2 hr run this week & hope to build to 3 1/2 for the longest.

Recovery week- today was a ~40 mile bike with a 9 mile brick.  Temp was 18* at the start of my bike.  Big week of training ahead.

Good job everyone.

Nice work there Chili!  I got in a long run of 16.6 miles for a time of 2:15.  Ran at 8:06 pace and felt pretty good.  Got in a 73 mile ride the next day, half  on the trainer and half outside.  Yeah, I finally got to ride outside.  Was able to manage 19 MPH for the the second half of the total ride outside for 33 miles.  Still a ways to go.  Happy training all, it's just around the corner.

Did a 4300 yd swim last night, non-stop in 1:26 so I'm pretty happy about that. I just wanted to get it done and out of the way for more mental confidence. I'll do another mid-March, and then the 2.4 mile OW swim on 4/1 at Lake UnPleasant.

I swam 6000m on Friday and spent the majority of the night getting sick. At that point, even the feeling of water in the shower made me nauseous. Felt good on the 4h brick Saturday and long run Sun., though.

For anyone in the Phoenix area.... or if 99 cents only stores are wide spread across the country... I don't know...

99 cents only stores are selling 34oz bottles of Gatorade Endurance for yes... 99 cents!

I picked up a couple of cases yesterday after one of my training partners told me about it.

H.E.B., one of the big chains here in Texas, has had GE for $0.99 for a while now. Everytime I go in there I pick up another 4 or 5 liters because I'm convinced it's going to go back up any day.

Ahh... I remember H.E.B. from back when I was stationed at Fort Hood 1992-93.

Oh... word out is that they are changing from handing out GU to handing out Power Gel. I switched over to Power Gel Xtra Sodium anyway and will carry my own supply.

Over 18 hours this week.

170 miles on the bike, 41 miles on the run, 6500 yards in the pool.

If the trainer rides had been on the road and my Saturday ride hadn't been so windy, I would have covered closer to 200 miles. Still a great week.

Whoa, I kinda hurt after this weekend...

Took Friday as a rest day (life happens)
Sat was a long bike ride with about 3400 ft of climbing
Today was my long run for the week, about 21 miles on a local trail system with 2,350 ft gain in the first 5 miles (that hour hurts) then about an other 1000 ft over the next 10 miles (of course some of this is still covered in snow) a step decent for 2.5 miles and then a fairly flat trail run home. That last strech home sucks because I try to pick up the pace for all but the last mile.

I am so looking forward to a long/easy swim tomorrow morning and doing NOTHING tomorrow afternoon!

Spent last week being sick a (think I am better now) and now this week is a semi-low hour week with the Mardi Gras Half-marathon trip this weekend.  Then after that, I have to hit it hard!!!  Only 8 weeks left people!!!

Finally got in a long ride today!  85.5 mile in 4:42.  Lots of wind and hills here in Colorado.  I also ran a Du on Saturday and was first overall for  the first time ever!  Pretty happy.  Beat a guy who has beating me be 4 minutes in the the last couple  races.  big week coming up and I feel good.  20 mile road race on Saturaday and some more riding.  8 fricking weeks people.   Keep on truckin.

I hope you don't mind if I hijack your thread. I plan on doing Ironman CDA this June. Fortunately, I was able to find a conference in Chandler, AZ the same weekend as IMAZ. I am officially jockstrapping you gals in the women's change tent, and hopefully NOT seeing any of you later, as I will be in the medical tent towards the latter hours. Good luck!
