3 more for me. Trying to get back on track. They have finally paved a more direct road that has been un-rideable for 2 years.

I haven't checked in the past couple of weeks. I'm up to 29 commutes now.

This week I have one commute that went back-to-back as I found out I was called off work after I arrived. Based on the average commute of my co-workers and the time I was called, most everyone would have been well on their way. They did apologize to me, though it was unnecessary. I thought it was great. I was awake, dressed to ride. and found myself with 12 free hours.

Put me down for two more bringing me to 28 of 50.  MS 150 ride Saturday/Sunday, so I'll probably start taper today and not commute on Friday.

welltoday is my last vavation day, will start commuting again tomorrow. just hope it dosent rain like it did earlier on me today. cut my ride short, hasnt rained like that in a while, i got soaked. apperently water resistant means, avoid water at all costs to stay dry.

jashac - 2007-07-12 3:02 PM SunnyS, you know if you are ever going to train that kitty to ride in a back pack, now is probably the time.     Then you'll always have someone to ride with.

You're brilliant, but you already know that...   thanks for the laugh!

Cheers, -Sunny

I'm back at it now with my new job. This week I commuted twice and I had one other commute in my final week at my old job.

So, I'm at 19.5 commutes and I'm going to be nowhere near my goal.

I went from a place that had lockers, showers, a cafeteria, and a bike rack in a parking garage to a building with not even a bike rack. I've found and joined a city rec club 1.5 miles away which supplies locks and towels (has a pool too, but opens at noon). I'm riding with a backpack now with my clothes & packed lunch, and I can store my bike in our building storage room.

I've pretty much worked out most of the kinks, but there is still a nasty intersection I need to get across coming from the Rec center to work. I've taken pretty much the same route as with my previous job (they are 2 miles apart), but may tinker with a completely different route. As it is, the shortest is a 35 mile round trip.

I'm so excited to be on the road again.

Checkin-In - With the lunchtime trip home today it put me at 62.

I think my 80 is very doable, but with vacation in August,100 might be tough.

Keep riding everyone (I hear gas prices might keep creeping up

Hi everyone,

Someone told me it's "Waving Wednesday" so say hello to a fellow rider on your commute today!

I'm at 41 of 50 rides now, and with the weather so good, I'll probably ride each day this week.

Be safe out there, and have fun, -Sunny

Rest day today.  Commute to work on bike, what a beautiful morning.  It feels like fall (for Midland) and yet it's still July.  We really haven't had much if any summer heat yet this year.  With morning clouds - unusual - and the cooler weather it really is feeling like fall.  We usually don't reallly see fall till October.

I really enjoyed riding down tree lined residental streets in the shade and cool morning.  I was thinking I probably have - although not seinic - one of the best commutes.  I'm at 30 of 50.

3 rides this week.

I second what jashac says - it has been very mild for July (60 degrees Wednesday morning, I had to dig out my jacket!)  It's made the commutes very enjoyable.

I managed 2 more commutes this week, so I'm 21.5/48. At this point, I'll be happy if I make it to 30.

Travel, sickness, and weather have cut into my commutes the last 2 weeks. I managed 2 to bring me up to a total of 31.

Weather and errands cut into my commutes last week, only one so now I'm 26/50. Looking at the calendar, meeting my goal would mean I ride EVERY workday between now and Sept 1st.

Just a brief diversion from the thread please...

Have you all read this thread?  A young triathlete almost drowns, many complications, and a call for thoughts and prayers.

Wow! August already, only 1 more month. Don't worry if you're coming up short like I am, just keep riding as much as you can.

Congrats to comet for hitting his goal.
