Anyone recommend a smart sleeve for the bike number or just use the adhesive and stick it to the tube?

I've had a great day of training today. I reached my goal of 1500m in the pool without stopping, also did it breathing bilaterally, which up till a couple of months ago I couldn't do one lap of. Also did my longest ride today and my longest run a few days ago so it has been a week of milestones. Really looking forward to the race on Saturday. I am hoping to go hard most of the way instead of just trying to survive the distance like at my first one.

Hope everyone is training hard and getting some good weather to boot!

That is great. All your hard work is certainly paying off. Sounds like you are ready for Sunday.

All right! Jaelin and Stuart best to you both this weekend. Uhh, hate to be stupid but, Stuart do you have time change in Australia? Anyway, if you do and Jaelin, don't forget about the time change on Sunday! That would suck.

Marcia and Brandon, the best to you in training! I just wish it would get warm!

Had a good spin session yesterday and then went to the club meeting. Bought some nice winter club gear at super prices and then promptly spilled a glass of red wine on my new clothes and the white jacket I was wearing! Bummer.

Swim today!

Best to everyone!

Drinking wine while carrying tri clothes   Funny but sucky at the same time!!

Yesterday was the beginning of spring I believe.  A high of 15 degrees, sunny and I got out on the bike woo hoo!  Hopefully this is the beginning...

I hope so too. The lows here are warmer than our average highs. It is perfect weather here. Hope it lasts.

I suppose I would be happy around 30 minutes. Haven't really thought about it. Enjoy finding new wheels. I love getting new tri stuff, if only my budget was as big as my wish list.

Question for the group?  How many km/miles on your runners before you replace them?

I think I just zoned in on the reason for all my leg pain!  I have 750km/470miles on mine!!!

Where'd the time go?  Feels like I JUST bought them a month ago!!

Some shoe specialists say 800-1000km, some say 6 months, sore shins is always the sign for me. I was once told by a podiatrist that if you are running more than 3 days a week you should have two pairs of shoes and swap them out every day to give the shoe's support system a chance to recover. It helps to prevent injury and the life of the shoe. I guess it stands to reason that if you are running in the same old pair of shoes everyday the EVA is going to compress and lose its absorbtion factor and benefits.

You might want to look at sciatica as a possible cause for cronic leg pain too. If my back muscles are too tight (ie I don't stretch thoroughly and often enough) it places strain on my sciatic nerve which then causes pain from my hips through to my glutes, hammies and then calves. I generally only get it on the right side, but since I've been diligently doing PNF stretching 3 times a week along with long passive stretching I haven't had any problems. As it is running and cycling are two of the worst exercises for shortening up your muscles, so having a really good 30 minute stretch after each workout is really a must for recovery and to keep the muscles from tightening up.

Wow that's a lot of k's. I've heard around 500km or 300-400 miles. The last pair I had were specialist long distance shoes and were supposed to last up to 1000kms. I wasn't really tracking how far I went, but they lasted around 2 years.

I've done around 350km at the moment, and will be looking to start phasing a new pair in soon I reckon, especially with HIM training starting soon.

Race day tomorrow and I can't wait to get in amongst it all. Really looking to push myself and see what I can do, unlike last time when I was just happy to survive the distance. Finally got my bike comp all set up so at least I can keep track of my speed this time and hopefully stick to my plan. Wish me luck team

Good luck, Simone! Will be cheering for you! How fun to be doing another so soon!

Hi everybody else! Work has been too busy for me to have extra time to play on the computer recently. Hope everyone is doing well.

We have had some nice weather. The spin group went outside and did hill repeats last night. How refreshing to be outside on my bike!

Had a really great race, smashed my goal time of 2hrs, unofficial time via my watch was 1:50:01. I pushed hard the entire time, especially on the bike, everything went to plan on the run and I had nothing in the tank when I finished. I'm really very happy and a tad bummed that this was the last race of the season for me. Cannot wait till next season for some OW sprints and Olys, as well as the club races. Will post a proper report when the splits are posted on the club website.

Hope everyone else is having a great weekend! Cheers.

No jewelry at all training or racing. Don't want to lose anything or scratch myself or someone else. I don't even take it to the race so I don't lose it that way. My husband lost his wedding ring during a rugby match because he took it off before the game and put it in his shoe on the sideline. Never did find it. I bought him another one because I really like him. Wink

Snicker.....

None for me either.  My bling isn't aero and might slow me down!!  Really though, swelling and chance of loss.

Just ordered a 40oz. Speedfil for my bike:  http://www.invisciddesign.com/standard.htm

That Speedfill looks awesome Monty, let us know how it goes, I think I'll add it to my tri gear wishlist for next season, even the F2 setup looks great. I really find reaching for bottles causes me to lose far too much momentum and was looking at the profile design aero bottles, but I think I like this idea better.
