Stay safe bike riders.    There was a bike/car accident literally just up the road from me.   Three riders were riding a stretch of road that I routinely ride.  One is confirmed dead, and a second one is in hospital.    Don't have information on the third as this just happened a couple of hours ago.

Oh, so sad.

One of my training partners posted a link to a news article on FB today.  Seems the driver deliberately slowed down near a cyclist and then someone in the car whacked the cyclist in the back of the head.  Caused the cyclist to have a heart attack from what the article said.  Happened not too far from me.  Cyclist was assisted by a nurse who happened to be driving near the incident when it happened.

Both stories are so sad.  WTH is wrong with some people?!

Awesome, now I'm only 13 RRs behind

Normally, I'd give you a hard time about completing this RR before the IM race report, but since I won't be meeting Chris is Venice (Florida), he can't pressure me into making good on our bet, so what the hell; take your time!!

WHAT???? Are you not racing that one?

Just dolphin kick your way through the swim.  If the dolphins can do it, it should work for us, right?

Maybe you can do a relay?  You can take the swim and Hands can do the run.  You can fight over who gets to bike ;-)

Are you scheduled for surgery on it?

Blame it on the 3-day weekend.  You were so focused on having the extra time off, you didn't read the race/DL report Janyne so faithfully puts together every week.

I figured you'd want some fancy micro brew, so decided this was cheaper!

I've put off surgery until after most of my fall HMS   , so 11/20.  I have a trail HM on 12/13 that I was hoping to be cleared to run, but I will probably have to settle for walking the corresponding 5 miler

Good suggestion, too bad I don't think I have the abs get me through the whole way!!  Plus, I can't actually ride my tri bike either

Family event at a race over the weekend. Was with my brother, sister, her husband and a friend of hers. First time for the last two. Back on a tri bike, so back to fastest bike split. Course isn't really hard, but does have some smaller hills on it. Another gear would have been helpful for me near the top of a few as I used the flat land gear set, but oh well. Sister loved having the hills out there in spite of training on flat ground. Realized how flat the Irongirl (and therefore Pleasant Prairie) was and the entertainment factor of this is way better. The other two were really excited to finish, especially the part about not drowning on the swim. Even though I told them the water was only waist deep at the turn (and yes, it actually was).

It's all good! Relay with Chris and he can do the swim and the bike, you're in for the run though.  Are you good with that?

Sounds like happy racers all around!  Congrats on fastest bike split, and congrats on racing with family, that is so very cool, IMO.

First of all, you'd only get free beer if Yanti doesn't get the RR done; so stop jumping the gun!

I am already making my doctor's eyes roll with all the racing I'm doing leading into the surgery, so I think I will have to be a little smart and take a pass on this one.  Too bad though cuz we'd make a bad azz relay team - especially with you doing 75% of the race!!!

Family races ROCK!  Sounds like you got a good power workout in, too, with that gear set.

So, are the newbies hooked???

The girls are. I think the husband is, but he's a bit more mellow than the other two. It's especially good to know that some terrain is ok, and actually preferred. Though a flat run is still appreciated.
